Bethel Health and Healing Network

Bethel Health and Healing Network We are a support for vulnerable pregnant women and new mums, and a listening ear for everyone.

We deliver two key services: *Bethel Doula Service and Rapha Listening Service*. Our Doula team is lead by an experienced former NHS midwife and we are commissioned by the NHS to deliver services to perinatal women across Birmingham , Sandwell and Solihull. We provide provide practical and emotional support to our service users and can act as birth partners. Our Listening Service provides support for people experiencing anxiety, low mood, loneliness and so on and who need a friendly ear to help them work through their situation. It is a culturally sensitive service with some of our listeners able to speak community languages.

On 15th October at 7pm, please join us for the Wave of Light 2025 as we light candles in loving memory of babies who passed during pregnancy, birth, and infancy. 💛

This simple act of remembrance connects families around the world, creating a global wave of light that shines in honour of every precious life gone too soon.

Let’s come together in reflection, love, and support. 💜

What a day!
Our annual “Bethel is Going on a Bear Hunt” picnic filled Cannon Hill Park with laughter, and one very well-travelled teddy bear.

Huge appreciation to…
• Leticia, final-year midwifery student on placement with our Doula team. Your warmth put anxious mums at ease all afternoon.
• Ilhan and the SOS group, who supported us in team spirit.
• Our YUMS group members who enjoyed with their young ones!
• Grace, brand-new volunteer, already making connections with families.
• Every staff member who swapped spreadsheets for sunshine and helped set up marquees, picnic rugs and the bear trail.

The best part? Watching service-users, volunteers and staff mingle like old friends – exactly the community we work toward all year.

We were deeply honoured to welcome Jess Phillips, MP for Birmingham Yardley, to Bethel on 23 May 2025. Her genuine interest in our work and heartfelt conversation with staff, doulas, and volunteers reaffirmed the power of community-driven support. Jess’s visit left us inspired and more determined than ever to keep championing compassionate care across Birmingham.

Our story

We are an award winning charity that started in 2006.Our mission is to enable the people of Birmingham, particularly focusing on the most vulnerable, to become physically, emotionally, and spiritually healthy. We are currently running two services with plans for so much more.

Bethel Doula Service

Here we provide support for vulnerable, isolated and pregnant women. This will include emotional and physical help during maternity (ante natal and post natal)

We have worked with over 300 women and their families to date and reached out to many groups and individuals who want to support us.
