The ANPR for the surgery car park is being installed today. Please be mindful of only using our car park whilst visiting the surgery and to only park in marked bays. Blue badge holders must display their blue badge clearly in the disabled parking bays.

Thank you to all of our kind, generous and thoughtful patients for all the festive treats and gifts being bought into the surgery for our team, including a delicious curry! We can’t all thank you individually in person but as you can see, from some of the team working on Friday, it’s put a lot of smiles on faces 😁💚🎁🎄

We would like to inform all patients and visitors that Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) will soon be introduced in our surgery car park.
Unfortunately, our car park has increasingly been affected by misuse and unauthorised parking, leading to reduced availability for genuine patients, unnecessary accidents due to vehicles not being in a bay as well as staff being unfairly held accountable when patients are delayed for appointments due to lack of space.
We are also seeing a rise in non–Blue Badge holders parking in disabled bays, which prevents those who need accessible spaces most from being able to park close to the surgery.
We have taken this step reluctantly but necessarily to help ensure that parking spaces remain available and used appropriately only by those attending the surgery and on-site pharmacy. These genuine visitors will be given the opportunity to input their registration which will give them authorisation to a limited amount of time in the car park.
According to NHS guidance, GP practices are not mandated to provide car parking facilities for patients, but we have chosen to do so in good faith to support access to healthcare. We hope that introducing ANPR will help us maintain fair, safe and respectful use of the car park for everyone. This is a subcontracted service that we do not have any other affiliation with, nor will profit from.
Registration devices will be available inside the doctors’ surgery and the on-site pharmacy, where patients and visitors can enter their vehicle registration details to validate parking during their visit.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we work to create a safer and more accessible environment for all.
Please note that there will be no exceptions for misuse of our private car parking facility which includes parking for longer than the allocated limits. Penalties will be dealt with via the car park management company only.

Dr Goddard wishes to express his gratitude to all patients for their kind words, fabulous gifts and hundreds of cards upon his retirement. He was deeply moved and wished to pass on his appreciation and thanks.
Dr Vaidya, who is taking Dr Goddard’s patient list, will hold her first clinic at the surgery tomorrow.

Please support your GP surgery by having your flu vaccination here at Greengate. Other providers may tell you that you are supporting your surgery by having it done elsewhere – unfortunately this is not the case; this generates extra administration work for us and considerably reduces our funding.

We are offering booked flu clinics and drop in clinics throughout the season at the surgery.

Flu vaccination is safe and effective. It’s offered every year through the NHS to help protect people at risk of getting seriously ill from flu. The surgery will be open until 2:30pm on Saturday 4th October for pre-booked appointments or you may walk-in after 1:15pm if you are an eligible patient. Other flu clinics are available on most working days in October and November. Call 0116 2677901 now.

We would like to share some bittersweet news with our patients.

After many years of dedicated service, Dr Patel and Dr Goddard will be retiring from Greengate Medical Centre this year.

They have been an integral part of our team and have cared for generations of families with compassion, professionalism, and warmth. Their presence will be deeply missed by both staff and patients alike. Dr Patel will be retiring at the end of August and Dr Goddard at the end of September 2025.

If you’d like to leave a message, we have books to sign at front desk or if you wish to send cards, we’ll be collecting them at reception over the next couple of months. Please join us in wishing them all the very best in their well-earned retirement!

Patients will be contacted via SMS with their new GP in due course. We will have Dr Dhillon and Dr Vaidya joining our team of Doctors.

Don’t forget bank holiday Monday is 26th May when we will be closed so allow plenty of time to order your prescriptions.
