Ruth had a lovely day at the local park, where she enjoyed using the climbing equipment and had fun on the swing. She made the most of the sunshine and spent time playing and relaxing outdoors.

The service users who are part of the Brantwood fundraising committee have been looking at ways to raise money for future activities and projects. They have been so enthusiastic in their approach and liaising with the other service users to get everyone on board. With lots of ideas coming up.
Discussing this further, it’s been proposed to kick things off, George & Kyle have been nominated to do a sponsored walk with the aim of clocking in 60 miles! By the end of April. This was previously a challenge of 50 miles a couple of years ago and was so successful as a unit collective.
Past fundraising activities have enabled us to regenerate our allotment and make it more accessible to wheelchair service users, which in turn made such a difference to a new activity wheelchair users could participate in.
We have been able to work with outside agencies and put on productions and presentations such as bands visiting and entertaining us all , reptile encounters, mobile petting zoos, pantomime trips and so much more that all the service users attending Brantwood benefit from.
As support workers, we couldn’t be prouder when we see how hard the service users work and we get to witness the sense of achievement gained, seeing how their hard work through all their fundraising efforts pays off and ultimately enables them to pursue new ventures.
Sponsor forms have been sent out and through the month of April, each Friday we will post on our page progress being made to hopefully reach by the end of the month our end goal of 60 miles.
Please keep an eye out on Facebook to see how well we do.

Two friends from South Hetton showing off their latest felt mosaic pictures. They used old canvases promoting up-cycling which helps reduce waste and cost 👏 Well done South Hetton, it looks amazing and is also helping to care for the environment.
