Our Story
Hello, I’m Jen - a Sports and Holistic Massage Therapist. I have treatment rooms in Bishop’s Castle, Shropshire and Newtown, Powys. I offer Sports and Deep Tissue Massage, Swedish Body Massage, Reflexology, Warm Bamboo Massage, Reiki, and Indian Head Massage. I also offer Corporate Workplace based massage.
Massage has often been viewed as a treat, or a pamper, but it is so much more.
Massage therapy/body work and touch has been used throughout history as an important part of a person’s holistic health. Right from birth, babies are massaged by their mother, instilling a vital sense of comfort, healing and well-being. Animals also use forms of massage in their bonding rituals. Hippocrates, with all his innovations in what we now know as modern medicine, recognised the importance that massage plays in a person’s health, both mentally and physically.
Massage is a manual form of therapy. Therapists use a variety of techniques, pressure and strokes on the muscles. Some aid relaxation and stress, whilst others create more refreshing and uplifting massages. Therapists create treatment plans specifically tailored to meet the individual client's needs.
Here are just a few ways in which massage can be beneficial to your overall health and well-being : -
Relieve pain and muscle tension.
Increase circulation and blood flow.
Encourage the release of red blood cells from bone marrow, which is vital in our growth and well-being.
Can reduce pain and inflammation.
Strengthen our immune system.
Aid and encourage the transportation of lymph.
Reduce headaches and migraines.
Enhance skin tone.
Decrease anxiety.
Treat indigestion.
Reduce stress.
Enhance sleeping quality.
Improve joint mobility.
Can improve posture.
Reduces the risk of injury in athletes.
These are just a few of the benefits of regular massage. Please have a look at my website www.serenityholisticmassagetherapies.co.uk for further details about me and the treatments I offer.
All treatments are carried out in a calm, relaxing and safe environment.
I look forward to welcoming you into one of my lovely treatment rooms either in Bishop’s Castle or at The Courtyard in Newtown.
