Hello folks. Just a little reintroduction. Many of you know me, but in case you're apprehensive about booking or have never had a treatment before, hopefully this will allay some of those questions or fears you may have.

I'm Jen and this is my 11th year in practice as a therapist, here in Bishop's Castle. I am a fully qualified sports and holistic massage therapy practitioner.

I offer a range of therapies for pain relief, stress, anxiety and movement maintenance. These include Massage, Myofascial Release, Reflexology, Cupping, Reiki, Indian Head Massage and Hot Stone/Bamboo Massage.

Each one of us is unique, so at your first appointment, I'll take you through a detailed consultation where I can get some background, medical information and ask about your lifestyle. This gives me more of a "holistic" idea of your overall wellbeing. This is totally confidential.

We will discuss which treatment may be best suited and I'll ask if you have any questions. You will then be asked to undress to your level of comfort, always keeping underpants on. You will be covered for modesty at all times, apart from the area I am working on. You will be asked to lie on the couch, under the covers. I always leave the room whilst you do this to respect your privacy and only return to the room when you are covered. Same at the end of a treatment.

I can assure you of a judgment-free, calm and welcoming space for you to relax and give your body and mind that vital time to unwind and begin its own healing.

Spots, cellulite, scars, tummies, bingo wings, hairy backs, stubble on legs - non of this matters and in 11 years, I have seen a lot of bodies and really aren't phased.

During your treatment please feel free to ask for more or less pressure, a drink if you're thirsty, for the heating to be turned up or down - it's your session and to get the most out of it, you need to feel comfortable.

When it's finished, I will get you a glass of water and again, leave the room so you can dress in private. I will then give you some aftercare advice.

If you have any queries about any of my treatments, or would like to pop and visit the treatment room prior, please drop me a message.

I look forward to seeing you soon.

Hello folks,

Just a little reminder not to be too early for your appointment. Sometimes folks are arriving quarter of an hour or more early which totally throws me. Please wait in the car until I pop out and get you. I may still be with someone, clearing the room, doing admin or having a cuppa. That in-between time is vital for doing all the other bits therapists need to do.

I don't have a waiting room so ask that you please aim for the appointment when possible 🥰

How is that area between your shoulder blades feeling right now? Aching? Sore? Stabbing sensation? Can you feel the tension in your neck and base of your skull?

Myofascial Massage can help to ease all of that. Sink into a heated couch and give your nervous system chance to re-set whilst I work on your muscles.

If this sounds like something you need, I have a few appointments available next week here in Bishop's Castle 🌿

Happy New Year folks! The turn of the year is often when we start thinking about our health and wellbeing. January is often a full on rush to move more, eat clean and completely change our ways at the strike of midnight. But remember this is also the season when our bodies actually need most nurturing and to conserve energy.

January in the treatment room is all about that nurturing. A warming body massage on a heated couch, a deeply nourishing back, neck and scalp massage or some balancing Reflexology....Reiki and all the good stuff.

If you are starting the year with thoughts on your wellbeing, don't forget your nervous system is the driving force in all that you do. If you are constantly stressed, in fight or flight mode....you wont be able to function. Lets start 2026 as we mean to go on....a bit more chilled....

See you soon folks xx

Our Story

Hello, I’m Jen - a Sports and Holistic Massage Therapist. I have treatment rooms in Bishop’s Castle, Shropshire and Newtown, Powys. I offer Sports and Deep Tissue Massage, Swedish Body Massage, Reflexology, Warm Bamboo Massage, Reiki, and Indian Head Massage. I also offer Corporate Workplace based massage.

Massage has often been viewed as a treat, or a pamper, but it is so much more. Massage therapy/body work and touch has been used throughout history as an important part of a person’s holistic health. Right from birth, babies are massaged by their mother, instilling a vital sense of comfort, healing and well-being. Animals also use forms of massage in their bonding rituals. Hippocrates, with all his innovations in what we now know as modern medicine, recognised the importance that massage plays in a person’s health, both mentally and physically. Massage is a manual form of therapy. Therapists use a variety of techniques, pressure and strokes on the muscles. Some aid relaxation and stress, whilst others create more refreshing and uplifting massages. Therapists create treatment plans specifically tailored to meet the individual client's needs.

Here are just a few ways in which massage can be beneficial to your overall health and well-being : - Relieve pain and muscle tension. Increase circulation and blood flow. Encourage the release of red blood cells from bone marrow, which is vital in our growth and well-being. Can reduce pain and inflammation. Strengthen our immune system. Aid and encourage the transportation of lymph. Reduce headaches and migraines. Enhance skin tone. Decrease anxiety. Treat indigestion. Reduce stress. Enhance sleeping quality. Improve joint mobility. Can improve posture. Reduces the risk of injury in athletes. These are just a few of the benefits of regular massage. Please have a look at my website www.serenityholisticmassagetherapies.co.uk for further details about me and the treatments I offer. All treatments are carried out in a calm, relaxing and safe environment. I look forward to welcoming you into one of my lovely treatment rooms either in Bishop’s Castle or at The Courtyard in Newtown.
