Why did set up Pegasus Health & Safety Training?

I joined the Parachute Regiment in 1981 and eventually became a Medic and was involved in dealing with Parachuting Injuries and all Medicals for the soldiers and recruits. This got me into First Aid and I always new I would set a company which would be called Pegasus ( From the archives of Airborne Assault Museum, Duxford. As keepers of the history of airborne forces, it is worth considering the origins of the image of Bellerophon astride the winged horse Pegasus as the first recorded instance of an “Airborne Warrior” and how it came to be associated with British airborne forces.)

I joined the Fire Brigade as a Fireman in 1991 and was soon involved in organising First Aid Training exercises involving the Hospital Emergency response team working with the Fire crew and casualties whom I had made up with cas-sim (which I had mastered in the Army) and set them into a car accident scenarios.

I finally was offered an opportunity to deliver First Aid courses to Harlow Hospital so set up my company and continued to develope more traing courses from Fire Safety using live fire training unit, Manual Handling, Health & Safety, Asbestos awareness, Food Safety, Safe-Guarding and specialist courses such as Anaphylaxis, Asthma, Diabetes and Epilepsy training working with Child-care setting, Charities and most businesses.

I continue to attend courses myself to keep my skills and hopefully to learn more which I can then pass onto the clients.
