ABOUT MELISSA:
Osteopath
BSc (Clin.Sci) MHSc (Osteo)

Melissa has completed a 5-year double degree of Bachelor of Science (Clinical Science) and a Masters in Health Science (Osteopathy) at Victoria University in Melbourne. Along with helping others she has always had a strong interest in the functioning of the human body, which led her to pursue her osteopathic career. Her enthusiasm for Osteopathy stems from the holistic approach to treatment, and the way it addresses all areas of the body to create balance and alleviate discomfort. Melissa has had additional training in Medical Acupuncture techniques and is a certified APPI Pilates instructor and yoga teacher. While striving to tailor her treatment and management to each individual, she aims to ensure clear and concise education to actively involve her patients in their road to recovery. Melissa treats all areas of the body, but has particular interest in low back pain and sacral dysfunctions, along with neck pain and headaches. Melissa recently moved to London to pursue her passion for paediatric osteopathy and the care of pre-and post-natal women; and is currently undergoing her post graduate certification in specialised paediatric osteopathy at the BSO. In her spare time, you will find Melissa maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle. If she is not out for run or behind the boat on water skies she will most definitely be in a yoga/pilates studio.

This is legit my handbag for my cousins wedding today:
- electrolytes
- comforter compression socks. because I know I will hit the dance floor and be on my feet a lot so these are ready to slip on for the drive home. It’s chilly out today so going the extra thick comforter socks today.
- Heart burn relief, because I don’t go anywhere without it these days.

Poor little poppet woke up with 💔 Good thing mama is a paediatric osteopath 👶✨
Wry neck can come on suddenly—often first thing in the morning with no clear cause.
A little heat can help ease the tightness, and it often settles within 2–3 days.
But gentle osteopathic treatment can support faster recovery by addressing underlying restrictions and preventing compensations 💛

Pregnancy is not the time to “sit back and relax” — literally. 🤰✨
When you slump backwards in a chair, your pelvis tucks under, your spine collapses, and extra pressure builds through your lower back and pelvic floor.
Over time, this can contribute to discomfort, stiffness, and even make it harder for your baby to settle into an optimal position.
Instead, think movement + support:
✔️ Sit on your sit bones (not your tailbone)
✔️ Gently tilt your pelvis forward and back throughout the day
✔️ Keep your chest lifted and spine long
✔️ Use a cushion or towel to support a slight forward tilt
Your pelvis is designed to move, not stay stuck. Keeping it mobile helps:
✨ Reduce back and hip pain
✨ Encourage better posture
✨ Support your pelvic floor
✨ Create more space for baby
Small shifts = big difference, this is why I recommend using a wobble disc to sit on. It helps keep you sitting upright, your pelvis moving and gently tones your pelvic floor at the same time.
Your body (and baby) will thank you.

✨ The Pregnant Pelvis: Perfect Design, Not Perfect Comfort
The female pelvis is beautifully designed to grow, carry, and birth a baby. It’s an incredible system built for pregnancy and childbirth.
But modern lifestyles place unnatural stresses and pressures on our bodies, which can affect how well everything functions during pregnancy.
Those common aches and pains? They’re often a sign that something needs support.
There are simple, gentle treatments and management strategies that can help your body move and function the way it was designed to, making pregnancy and preparation for birth more comfortable.
You wouldn’t run a marathon with a sprained ankle…
So don’t approach childbirth like an un-oiled machine.
🤍 You don’t have to suffer in silence.
If you’re experiencing discomfort during pregnancy, feel free to reach out for tips, advice, or guidance on when and where to seek help.
