📷 It's Photo Friday! This image of Vogt's Striae was taken by Ophthalmologist, Sunil Mamtora in his clinic at Bristol Eye Hospital.
🔬Device: The Haag-Streit Elara 900 slit lamp.
👁️ Pathology: Vogt’s Striae can be a feature of Keratoconus, but they can also be found in healthy eyes. The striae appear as fine vertical lines in the Descemet’s membrane of the cornea and are best viewed using a moderate slit beam. These lines are caused by the cornea stretching and can disappear when pressure is applied to the globe.
📓 Note: The new Elara slit lamp offers new 'P-type' projector illumination, allowing the user to easily identify ocular structures and view them with exceptional precision.
