Menopause and Labrador hunger.

Christmas can be particularly tough during the peri/menopause for many reasons. One is at this time of our lives the hunger-suppressing effect of estrogen on estrogen alpha receptors in the central nervous system is reduced, resulting in higher calorie intake, we turn into labradors (or my dog Max) who never feels full.

Enjoy Christmas with the all the delicious food that it brings but maybe in your shopping basket add lots of Mediterranean style foods such as tangerines and other fruit, nuts and seeds for when you get those cravings. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10780928/
