🎱🎯 Games at Meadowbrook! 🎯🎱

This week has been full of fun, laughter, and a little friendly competition as we tried out our brand new tabletop games! 🎯🎱

From lining up the perfect pool shot to aiming for that bullseye in darts, we've been putting our skills to the test—and let’s just say, it’s *much* trickier than it looks! 😄

Safe to say, there have been plenty of giggles and great moments all around. Who knew a bit of competition could be this much fun?

☀️ Wow! What a day we’ve had! ☀️

💪 We started our day off as normal with our seated exercise class. This morning we had the wonderful Glenn Bowers who gave the residents a very beneficial PT session. They definitely worked very hard! 💪

🐶 We then had a lovely visit from Lola the Therapy Dog! She was adorable! Every resident got a cuddle with Lola! She definitely brightened our morning! Essex Therapy Dogs 🐶

🎶 This afternoon we were then joined by Impromptu Duet. They pleased us with beautifully played classical music and a little bit of jazz! 🎶

🍦We then had a visit from the Ice Cream man! We couldn’t say no to an ice cream! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their ice creams. This really brought staff and residents together! 🍦

🎱 We finished the afternoon off with a new game here at Meadowbrook! We tried our tabletop pool table out for the first time! There were lots of laughs and giggles. It’s harder than it looks! 🎱

🌸🐣 Sharing Smiles This Easter at Meadowbrook 🐣🌸

What a truly wonderful day we had at Meadowbrook’s Easter Event! 💛 It was so lovely to see so many happy faces as children came along to join in the fun and celebrations.

The Easter Bunny was very busy spreading joy (and plenty of chocolate! 🍫🐰), making sure every child left with a big smile and some sweet treats to enjoy.

Our raffle was a huge success too, with lots of fantastic prizes won—thank you to everyone who took part and made it so special! 🎟️✨

A special congratulations goes to the Mayor of Bishops Stortford, who was our lucky winner of the beautiful handmade Easter egg! 🥚🎉

Thank you to everyone who came along and helped make the day so memorable. We loved sharing smiles with you all this Easter! 🌷💕

🍸 Mouthful March 🍸

March was all about flavour, function, and feeling good.

For Mouthful March, we explored the world of functional drinks — from nutrient-packed options to creative mocktails — all while learning just how important proper hydration is for our energy, focus, and overall wellbeing.

Hydration isn’t just about drinking more water… it’s about giving your body what it needs to thrive. Think vitamins, minerals, and natural ingredients that support everything from digestion to immunity 🌿

To celebrate, we got hands-on with a mocktail-making session 🍹 — mixing, tasting, and creating delicious alcohol-free drinks that were as good for the body as they were for the taste buds. Safe to say, there were some future mixologists in the room!

Here’s to staying hydrated, feeling energised, and making healthy choices that still taste amazing 💚

We’re so proud to share that the very first Meadowbrook’s Annual Charity Artwork Auction was a huge success! 🎨✨

Thanks to the incredible generosity and support from everyone involved, we raised over £700 for Grove Cottage Bishop's Stortford Mencap and local dementia groups 💙

Thank you so much Sworders Fine Art Auctioneers for facilitating this auction for us and a special mention to our auctioneer Alex who was incredible! 😊

We even saw an amazing highest bid of £160 on one of the pieces! 👏

A massive thank you to all our residents (our artists), bidders, and supporters who made this event so special. We couldn’t have done it without you!

We’re already looking forward to making next year even bigger and better… see you there! 🎉

There’s something truly special about our weekly visits from Happy Kids Childminding Service 💛

The joy they bring to our residents is impossible to put into words. Their laughter, energy, and kind hearts light up the room every single time they walk through our doors.

“Read to Me Day” has become a firm favourite — seeing the children sit side by side with our residents, sharing stories, turning pages together, and sparking conversations across generations is simply magical 📚✨

These moments aren’t just visits… they’re meaningful connections. They remind us all how powerful companionship, kindness, and a good story can be.

Thank you, Happy Kids, for bringing so much warmth and happiness into our home each week. We treasure every visit 💕
