The men’s third major and Daniel Robinson & sons Claret Jug, held at The Essex Golf & Country Club, was won by James McDade with a net 70, seen here being presented with the Strokeplay Trophy and the DRS Claret Jug (to keep) by Gary Neill MD of Daniel Robinson & sons.
The club are very grateful for the continued support from Daniel Robinson & sons.
James said of his win how delighted he was, and he was going home to fill it up with whiskey! Very nice too 🥃 🙂

🎉 Celebrating 25 Years of The Griffin Bowls Club! 🎉

This weekend (2nd & 3rd August 2025), we were proud to support and join in the celebrations for the 25th Anniversary of The Griffin Bowls Club. It was a real honour to be part of such a special milestone event, surrounded by past members, friends, and the wonderful bowls community in Harlow. 🥳

We were pleased to support the Flower Festival at St. Mary the Virgin, Stapleford Abbotts on Saturday 27th July and Sunday 28th July.
The theme was ‘The magic of movies’, the event was a great success and very well attended.

His first time in a plane and he jumped out🙌
We would like to extend our congratulations to Tom from Old Park Meadow Natural Burial Ground, who has raised over £2,500.00 making a charity skydive. All funds will be donated to Farleigh Hospice, he really did go above and beyond!!

Gary Neill, Managing Director, was on hand at the weekend to present the Ladies Daniel Robinson & Sons Claret Jug at The Essex Golf and Country Club.
This is a competition which coincides with The Open. It was won by Karen Stanton playing off 13, with a net 71, three under her handicap. Karen is shown in the photograph with Christine Curtis, Lady Captain, who thanked us for the support given to the Ladies section of the Golf Club and the wonderful goody bags supplied.

Earlier this week, Derek was pleased to attend the Induction and Installation of The Reverend Dr Sara Batts-Neale as Vicar of the Benefice of Sawbridgeworth.

Revd Sara was formerly Anglican Chaplain to the University of Essex and Associate Priest of St Mary the Virgin Wivenhoe; and Greenstead with St Anne’s Colchester and St Stephen’s Colchester in the Diocese of Chelmsford.

Our congratulations to Revd. Sara, it was a pleasure to meet her and we wish her every happiness and success.

We beat the storm!!
It was a great relief when despite the terrible weekend weather, the match we had sponsored at Harlow Bowls Club went ahead.
Harlow were playing against Sawbridgeworth and Bishop's Stortford Bowling Clubs, and despite it being a close match, Harlow were the winners on the day.

Seamus, from our Epping and Loughton funeral homes, is a member of Epping Rotary Club, he is pictured here proudly helping out with other Rotarians at their recent Classic Car Show, which we were pleased to help to promote.

It was a very rainy day, but still amazing with over 130 classic cars, including vintage MG’s, Triumphs, Cobras, Jaguars, American classics, Mustangs, Jeeps, Fords and many more, all gathered together for onlookers to admire, helped along by an array of stalls to visit.
