Do you remember this lady who was struggling with a bulging disc and couldn’t walk for months?

With consistent treatment—and now maintaining sessions every two weeks—she’s made incredible progress. She’s able to walk along the corridor with a frame, and even more exciting… she’s planning to visit her family in Africa this May!

I’m so happy to see her recovery and determination 💛

From Chair-Bound to Walking Again – A Lumbar Disc Recovery Journey with Acupuncture 👣🌿✨

Today I would like to share a meaningful and encouraging case from my clinic.

A 57-year-old lady came to me after being unable to walk since April last year due to severe lumbar spine issues. Imaging showed multiple disc bulges at L2/3, L3/4, L4/5 and L5/S1, with moderate spinal canal stenosis.

She experienced constant lower back and hip pain, significant weakness, and became completely chair-bound 🏠. Daily activities were extremely difficult, and her quality of life was greatly affected.

Despite hospital medication 💊 and ongoing physiotherapy, her mobility did not improve. She also had arthritis in both knees and ankles, which further complicated her recovery. Understandably, she felt frustrated, discouraged, and exhausted 😔.

She then decided to try acupuncture.

Because travelling was impossible for her, I offered home visits 🚗. Although it required nearly two hours of travel each way, I accepted the case because I genuinely wanted to help and felt she deserved another chance to regain her independence.

I am very grateful for the trust she and her family placed in me 💛🙏

Treatment approach 🌿

Over the first three sessions, treatment focused on:

• reducing pain and inflammation
• activating circulation of Qi and Blood
• releasing muscular and channel stagnation
• warming and strengthening Kidney Yang (to support spine and lower limbs)
• improving joint mobility in knees and ankles
• relaxing tight muscles and nerves

Therapies included:
• acupuncture
• moxibustion 🔥
• cupping
• gua sha
• local and distal point combinations

The treatments were sometimes uncomfortable, but she remained incredibly determined and committed 💪

Outcome so far 🌟

At her 4th session today, we received wonderful news.

She was able to stand and walk a few steps independently with her walking frame 👣✨

She also reported:
• less back, hip, and knee pain
• improved strength
• better general energy
• reduced night sweating
• more confidence moving around

After nearly a year of being home-bound, this progress is significant — both physically and emotionally 🥹

For her and her family, this was the first real improvement they had seen in months ❤️
For me, it was incredibly rewarding to witness 🌿

Why this matters

Chronic musculoskeletal conditions often involve more than just structural damage.

From a TCM perspective, long-term pain is related to:
• Qi and Blood stagnation
• Cold-Damp obstruction
• underlying Kidney weakness

By improving circulation, reducing stagnation, and strengthening the body’s foundation, we can gradually restore movement and function.

Recovery takes time ⏳ — but small steps truly matter.

Sometimes, just a few steps forward can change everything 🌱

I’m grateful to be part of her healing journey and look forward to supporting her continued progress 💛

It’s finally spring. It feels as though it has arrived all at once — daffodils and cherry blossoms glowing in the sunshine after months of rain.

Today I visited my client, and his dog greeted me with such happiness. My client said he doesn’t usually welcome other people, even carers, like that. This little dog is incredibly intuitive — he seems to understand exactly what is happening. While I was giving acupuncture to his owner, he sat quietly under the bed the entire time. As soon as I finished, he came out to play.

When I was leaving, he listened carefully to his master, sat still, looked at me, and seemed to say goodbye. Absolutely lovely. ☺️

✨ From IVF Failure to Strong Heartbeat ❤️ --- Fertility Acupuncture Case Sharing

PCOS. Previous IVF failure. Chronic inflammation. Digestive surgery. Persistent back pain.

On paper, her scans looked normal.
But clinically, her body needed deeper, systemic support.

This 32-year-old patient came to see me before starting her third IVF cycle. Our focus was not only on the uterus, but on restoring overall physiological balance:

🌿 Strengthening digestion following major stomach surgery
🌿 Improving uterine circulation
🌿 Supporting Kidney energy
🌿 Relieving chronic back pain
🌿 Calming the nervous system

After four treatments, her embryo transfer was successful.
At 8 weeks, a strong heartbeat was confirmed ❤️

Fertility care is rarely about one organ alone. In TCM, we look at circulation, digestion, stress regulation, and constitutional strength as an integrated system. When the whole body is supported, the reproductive system can respond differently.

Every journey is unique — but balance changes outcomes.

🌿 Why TCM Looks at Fertility Differently

Many women are told,
“Your tests are normal — we can’t find a reason.”

Yet you’re still not conceiving.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, fertility is not just about hormones, ovaries, or scans. It’s about the whole body working in balance.

To conceive well, your body needs:
• strong Qi and Blood
• a warm, well-circulated uterus
• good digestion and nutrition
• balanced hormones
• quality sleep
• low stress and emotional calm

When these foundations are weak, fertility can struggle — even when medical tests look “normal.”

TCM focuses on strengthening the root cause, not forcing pregnancy.

Through:
• fertility-supportive diet
• lifestyle adjustments
• stress regulation
• warming therapies
• acupressure and home care
• acupuncture and herbs

we gently improve circulation, nourish the lining, regulate cycles, and create the best internal environment for implantation.

Think of it this way:

Nourish → Balance → Strengthen → Conceive

Small daily habits matter more than intense short-term efforts.

Your body has the ability to heal — sometimes it just needs the right support.

I will share more practical tips and real case stories every week. 🌸

🌸 Over 40? Don’t lose hope — with the right support, your body can still conceive naturally.

This is another successful and encouraging case in my clinic.

At age 40, this patient came to me with a mixture of hope and emotional exhaustion 💛

She already had one healthy daughter from a previous natural pregnancy. However, after her first child, she had been trying to conceive again for several years without success. During that time, she experienced three heartbreaking miscarriages.

Although her medical tests showed no clear abnormalities, she felt her body was “not strong enough to hold the pregnancy.”

This is a situation many women face — where Western investigations show “nothing wrong,” yet implantation or pregnancy maintenance repeatedly fails.

🩺 TCM Assessment

From a Traditional Chinese Medicine perspective, her presentation showed a complex mixed pattern:

• Kidney Yin deficiency
• Heart Yin deficiency with Empty Heat
• Kidney Yang weakness
• Blood stagnation in the uterus

Clinically, she reported:
• poor sleep and night heat
• anxiety and overthinking
• low energy after ovulation
• cold lower abdomen and feet
• history of spotting and miscarriages

In TCM, the Kidney system governs reproduction and implantation, while the Heart houses the Shen (mind). When Yin is depleted and Heat agitates the system, the uterus may not be calm or nourished enough to “hold” the embryo. At the same time, Yang deficiency and Blood stagnation can impair uterine circulation.

In simple terms:
✨ the lining lacked warmth, nourishment, and stability.

🌿 Treatment Strategy

She received four treatments before her embryo transfer, focusing on:

• nourishing Kidney and Heart Yin
• gently clearing Empty Heat
• warming and supporting Kidney Yang
• improving pelvic circulation
• calming the nervous system
• regulating the Chong and Ren meridians
• reducing stress and improving sleep

Treatment included:
• acupuncture
• gentle warming therapy
• lifestyle and dietary guidance

The goal was not only to prepare the uterus physically, but also to create a relaxed, receptive internal environment 🫶

🌟 Outcome

This was her very first embryo transfer.

It was successful.

She achieved implantation smoothly and progressed into a stable pregnancy 🤍

💡 Why This Case Matters

This case highlights an important principle:

Even when medical tests appear normal, subtle functional imbalances may still affect fertility.

By improving circulation, strengthening Kidney energy, and calming the mind–body system, we can often enhance the body’s natural ability to receive and sustain pregnancy.

Sometimes, small adjustments make a meaningful difference.

🌷 Takeaway

Fertility support is not only about procedures or medication.
It is also about restoring balance, warmth, nourishment, and calm.

When the body feels safe, supported, and well-circulated, implantation becomes more likely.

This patient’s journey is a reminder that it is never “too late,” and even a few well-timed treatments can help create the right conditions for success 🌸

🌿 Eat for Your Menstrual Health & Fertility! 🌿

Your diet directly impacts your cycles, ovulation, and hormone balance. Here are some key tips:

✨ Support Ovulation & Blood Health: Iron, folate, and B12 help egg quality and red blood cells. Think spinach, lentils, avocado, and red meat.

✨ Reduce Inflammation & Balance Hormones: Omega-3s and vitamin D help calm inflammation and regulate hormones. Fatty fish, flaxseeds, walnuts, and eggs are great choices.

✨ Hormone Production & Balance: Healthy fats and cholesterol are building blocks for estrogen & progesterone. Include avocado, nuts, olive oil, and eggs. Protein stabilizes blood sugar and hormone levels.

✨ Liver Support & Hormone Detox: Cruciferous vegetables like broccoli, kale, and cabbage help metabolize estrogen efficiently. Garlic & onions support detox pathways.

✨ Digestive Health & PMS Relief: Fiber from whole grains, legumes, and fruits binds excess estrogen. Probiotics from yogurt, kefir, and fermented vegetables keep your gut healthy.

💡 Pro Tip: Variety is key. Balance protein, carbs & fats. Limit sugar & processed foods. Hydrate well. Your body responds to care.

Your menstrual health is a reflection of your nutrition. Eat wisely, support your cycles, and boost your fertility naturally! 🌸

💖Fertility Success Story: From 2 years trying to 20 weeks pregnant🤰
👩🏻‍⚕️A real case from my clinic💖💪🏻

Fertility success stories like this always remind me why I love the work I do 🤍

A 30-year-old lady came to see me after trying to conceive for almost 2 years.

Month after month, nothing happened.

She felt frustrated and starting to lose confidence in her body.

Although her medical tests were mostly “normal”, she was experiencing many symptoms:

• cold hands and feet
• painful menstrual cramps
• post-ovulation spotting
• low energy and fatigue
• feeling generally cold and weak

From a Traditional Chinese Medicine perspective, these were clear signs that her body wasn’t well prepared for pregnancy.

My assessment showed:
Cold in the uterus, poor circulation, blood deficiency, and weak digestion (Spleen Qi deficiency).

In simple terms — the womb wasn’t warm or nourished enough to support implantation.

So instead of rushing straight into procedures, we focused on strengthening her foundation first 🌿

Our treatment plan included:
✨ Acupuncture to improve pelvic circulation and regulate hormones
✨ Chinese herbs to warm the uterus and nourish blood
✨ Diet and lifestyle changes to build energy and support her cycle

Her body responded very quickly.

After just ONE treatment → her post-ovulation spotting stopped
After TWO treatments → her basal body temperature became warmer and more stable
Within a few months → less cramping, better energy, smoother cycles, warmer hands and feet

Gradually, her body became stronger and more balanced.

After about 7 months of consistent care (sessions every 2 weeks), she proceeded with IVF.

This time:
✓ her uterine lining was healthy
✓ follicles developed well
✓ egg quality improved

And her IVF was successful 🎉

She is now 20 weeks pregnant 🤰

Seeing messages like hers truly makes my day.

Because fertility is not only about age or procedures.

It’s about creating the right internal environment.

When circulation improves, hormones regulate, and the body is nourished — pregnancy often happens much more smoothly.

If you’re trying to conceive naturally or alongside IVF, please know that you don’t have to do this alone.

There is so much you can do to support your body naturally.

I share weekly fertility education and practical tips here to help more women take control of their health 💛
