When I began Face Yoga, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I certainly didn’t follow a perfect routine (life doesn’t work like that!). But even dipping in and out, the results are real:

🤧💆‍♀️ This Week I Lost My Voice – Here’s What Helped Me Heal Naturally

Gentle practices for head colds, laryngitis & low energy – plus news on my next Face Yoga course!

Hi! 💖

This past week, I caught a proper headcold and completely lost my voice 😷

Not ideal when you teach for a living! It’s been a week of slowing down, tuning in, and honouring what my body needed most: warmth, stillness, and support.

✨ Today, my voice is finally returning — so I wanted to share exactly what’s helped me.
If you’re feeling run down, blocked up, or recovering from laryngitis too, this might be just what your system needs.



🌿 My Self-Care Toolkit for Headcold + Laryngitis:

✨ 1. Breathwork: Full Body Steam Breath
• Sit upright, one hand on your belly
• Inhale deeply through the nose (or mouth if blocked)
• Exhale softly through pursed lips, like fogging a mirror
• Visualise a warm mist rising to soothe your throat and face
• Repeat x10 rounds

💬 Affirmation: “I soften. I soothe. I breathe with ease.”



✨ 2. Acupressure Points for Relief

• LI-20 (Welcome Fragrance) – sides of nostrils ➝ opens nasal passages
• Bitong – just under the eye socket at the crease ➝ relieves sinus pressure
• ST-9 – side of the throat near the voice box ➝ calms inflammation
• Ren-22 – hollow at the base of the throat ➝ supports the vocal cords

Hold each gently for 10–20 seconds or use soft circles.



✨ 3. Facial Massage for Sinus Drainage
• Stroke down the sides of the neck (behind ears and under jaw)
• Sweep under cheekbones (nose to ears) x5
• Circle around eyes and brows x3
• Cup jaw and hold for warmth
• Place palms over throat and collarbones to breathe into the area

💧 Finish with a warm compress or steamy towel across your face if you like.



✨ 4. Gentle Face Yoga
• Eye Circles – light fingertip tracing around the orbital bone
• Brow Pinches – soft pinches from centre to temples
• Soft “O” Face – drop jaw into an ‘O’ and gently gaze up (hold for 3 breaths)
• Neck Hold – tilt chin slightly upward and breathe into the throat



✨ 5. Simple Hydration Rituals

• Sips of warm water with honey + turmeric
• Thyme or chamomile steam
• Voice rest — essential (and hard!)
• Head elevated for sleep

I’m so excited to finally open the doors to something that’s been in the making for quite some time — a beautifully structured, heart-led Face Yoga programme, refined with care, love and clinical knowledge.

This isn’t just a set of exercises — it’s a complete mind-body beauty practice rooted in wellness, anatomy, and deep self-connection.

Over 8 weeks, I’ll guide you through a full Face Yoga experience using the Danielle Collins Face Yoga Method, combined with my years of experience as a Pilates teacher, Feet-ness specialist, and holistic movement educator.

DIY Banana Water — the free, low-waste plant food your leafy friends will love!
Instead of throwing away banana peels, turn them into a gentle, natural fertiliser for your houseplants.

Here’s how:
1. Place 1–2 banana peels in a jar
2. Fill with water
3. Let soak for 1–3 days
4. Strain & pour onto your plants!

Rich in potassium, phosphorus and magnesium — all the good stuff for healthy growth, strong roots, and vibrant leaves.

Perfect for: Peace lilies, monsteras, pothos, spider plants
Not ideal for: Cacti or succulents (they prefer dry!)
