💐Happy Mothers Day! 💐💝
7 interesting Mothers Day facts:
1. Mothers Day is celebrated in 46 countries around the world. In the UK and Ireland, it falls in March on the 4th Sunday in Lent but in the USA, France, Spain & Germany, it falls on the second Sunday in May. 🌹
2. Mothers Day is the biggest flower-buying day in the year; sales are usually up by 70% on this day, compared with any other day in the year. 🌹
3. Mothers Day originated in Ancient Greece, where they held an annual festival dedicated to the maternal goddess Rhea, mother of the gods. 🌹
4 In India, they celebrate Durga-puja, a 10-day festival in September/October dedicated to the mother goddess Durga. 🌹
5. Mothers Day is one of the most popular days of the year for eating out and on this day in the UK, more than 30 million cards are sent. 🌹
6. In the USA, Mothers Day was founded in 1907 by Anna Jarvis; ironically she later campaigned to have it stopped when she saw how commercialised it had become. She failed, however: in 1914, Woodrow Wilson wrote Mothers Day into American law.🌹

Happy Mothers Day to all mums everywhere. Let's celebrate with flowers, fluffy slippers, make up, perfume, magazines....NOT cake and chocolates! 🌹
