NOTICE

All of our non-emergency appointments for GPs today (Friday) are now full. These limited 'on the day' appointments will be available again Monday morning from 08:30.

If you have an acute medical emergency that you feel requires attention from our Emergency GP today then contact us as you always would have in the past. As normal, these requests will be triaged by our Emergency GP.

This is a challenging situation, which is certainly not ideal for anyone. Please be patient, and bare with us as we try to navigate this system downtime as best as we can. We all look forward to our normal services returning ASAP after we go live with our new clinical system on Tuesday (24th) next week.

Mant thanks,
BMP

PATIENT NOTICE
Patient reminder – Change to patients services from 17/2/26 24/2/26
Bishopton Medical Practice will undergo Vision migration in February. This means we will have a
period of time (afternoon of) Tuesday 17th February-Tuesday 24th February, where we will have
‘read only’ access to medical record systems. As a result of this, we will:
• be unable to issue regular medications – if you are due any prescriptions during this period
then you MUST order them early, and the cut-off date will be Friday 13th February, in
order for us to process all of them before EMIS shuts down in the afternoon of Tuesday 17th
February (Please note during this time from 6pm on Friday 13/2/26 until Tuesday 24/2/26
online prescription requests and the prescription phone line will both be suspended).
Please note the pharmacy will be extremely busy due to the increase in demand for
prescriptions leading up to and during this time – please allow 72 hours for prescription
collection
• be unable to do non-emergency bloods
• not receive any electronic secondary care communication (e.g. hospital/clinic letters)
• not receive any results (bloods, scans, swabs, urine)
• not be able to provide copies of medical records
• not be able to produce private medical reports
• be unable to register new patients
• not have our self-check in facilities
• be unable to book future appointments
During the extended time of Wednesday 18th February-Tuesday 3rd March, we will have to operate
slightly differently, with on the day appointments only. This means that if you phone for an
appointment on any day during this period, you will have to be available that day and take the time
you are given. You will have a choice of face to face or telephone consultation with our ANPs and
with either a male or female GP. Once the appointments are full on any day then you will be
required to call back the next day.
This is an enormous undertaking, and we do not take changes to the services we provide lightly. The
changes noted above are for a relatively, and necessary, short period of time, and we would
therefore ask you to be patient as we navigate, and familiarise ourselves with, this significant
change of clinical records system.

Bishopton Medical Practice History

Bishopton Medical Practice was opened in 1977 and built for a three-doctor practice. As Bishopton and Erskine have expanded, our practice has grown considerably and now includes seven General Practitioners, two specialist nurses, one healthcare assistant and a team of ancillary and administrative staff. We are committed to providing high quality medical care for our patients. The Bishopton Medical Practice is not a Limited Company. The Practice is now an accredited training practice and we will have a GP Registrar working with us at various times throughout the year.
