April 2026… we’ve made it! 🙌

The clocks have changed, the evenings are lighter, and the days feel warmer and brighter (for now).

Brighter, longer days are ahead, and finally we are getting back out, moving more, and for many of us jumping back in the saddle.

If your horse is getting back into work, looking ahead to competitions, or just having fun with your horse, equine sports massage can make all the difference ✨

🐎 Good luck to all of my clients running in today’s point-to-point! 🐎

Wishing you and your horses safe travels, clear runs, and the very best of luck out on the course.

It takes an incredible amount of dedication, preparation, and teamwork to get to the start line, and it’s always fantastic to see these horses out doing what they love.

If you’re looking for something to do today, why not head along and support your local point-to-point? These events are made possible by the passion and commitment of trainers, owners, and everyone behind the scenes who put in countless hours to keep their horses fit, healthy, and ready to compete. Not to mention those who dedicate their free time to set up the course, make tasty bakes and assess conditions to ensure safety of horses, riders and spectators is paramount.

Your support means a lot to the people and horses who make the sport so special. Come along, enjoy the atmosphere, and cheer them on! 👏🐎

There’s nothing quite like that little “thank you” in the middle of a treatment 🩷

Our horses are constantly communicating with us. They don’t just show us when something hurts, they also show us when they’re comfortable, relieved, and grateful.

Building the right team around your horse truly matters. And while the primary feed giver (yes, you owners 😉) is important, it takes so much more than that. Think farrier, vet, physio, massage therapist, dentist, saddle fitter, feed supplier, instructor… the whole village behind your horse’s wellbeing.

Each of these people should be someone your horse feels good around, professionals who listen, observe, and care.

So here’s a little cheer for the entire team 👏
And a big cheer for you, for investing the time, effort, and love into giving your special equine partner the highest quality of life possible 🩷🦄

Galloping into the Year of the Horse 🐎✨

This year is all about strength, movement, and the powerful bond between horse and rider. Just like the spirit of the Horse symbolizes energy and freedom, equine sports massage helps our equine partners move with comfort, balance, and peak performance.

By supporting muscle recovery, improving flexibility, and enhancing overall wellbeing, we give our horses the care they deserve, so they can run boldly into every new challenge ahead.

Here’s to healthy strides, strong muscles, and a year filled with harmony in motion.
Happy Year of the Horse! 🌟

This weather is relentless 🌧️ Just when we thought spring was on the horizon… hello rain, mud, and soggy rugs again.

But when life gives you lemons 🍋 we plaster on a smile, pull our hoods up, and embrace the mud. With the fields struggling, many horses are spending more time in, so here are a few simple ideas to help keep them happy, supple, and supported during longer periods of restricted movement:

🐴 Daily movement matters – Even short in-hand walks or time on the walker can help keep joints ticking over and minds settled.
🧘 Gentle stretching & mobility – Carrot stretches, belly lifts, and slow warm-ups help maintain suppleness when turnout is limited.
🧠 Stable enrichment – Haynets in different locations, treat balls, or chopped fibre feeds can reduce boredom and stress.
💪 Targeted groundwork – Poles, backing up, and basic in-hand exercises engage muscles without overloading them.
🌿 Support from within – Consider joint, muscle, or circulation support to help them cope with reduced movement.
🧹 Routine & comfort – Clean, dry beds and consistent routines go a long way for both body and brain.

We can’t control the weather, but we can control how we support our horses through it. Muddy boots, happy horses, and brighter days ahead ☔

🥇 Congratulations are in order for two of my regular clients, Michael and Drizzle!

Little Drizzle got her nose in front at Wadebridge last weekend, expertly piloted by Michael. Even more special given that Drizzle is a homebred.

Very proud to have helped this winning team! 🌟

2026 is here ✨ and the start of a new year is the perfect time to pause, plan, and set intentions for what you’d like to achieve.

Whether your goal is to get back out competing, spend more time in the saddle, or simply enjoy being around your four-legged friends, here’s one top tip to take with you into the year ahead…

We often put so much pressure on ourselves that even the smallest setback can feel overwhelming. But in 2026, I’d love for you to rethink a word we use far too often — FAIL.

When things don’t go to plan or an unexpected setback appears, remember what FAIL really means:

F – First
A – Attempt
I – In
L – Learning

Every step forward counts, even the imperfect ones.

Wishing everyone a fun-filled, successful, and rewarding 2026 🐎✨

🎄 Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas 🎄

Summer: gone.
Me: emotionally unprepared.

The first winter job has officially begun — constructing a royal suite for His Majesty the Horse 👑🐴 Straw fluffed to perfection, bed fit for a king, and me? Just the humble stable servant, back in my winter uniform: three jumpers, two pairs of socks, and a faint smell of hay.

Ah yes, the season of being a slave to the horse has arrived. He eats like a lord, sleeps like a prince, and I shovel like a peasant.

And so begins my seasonal career as personal butler to a four-legged diva while I just try to survive on caffeine and sarcasm ☕❄️🐴

Every Horse has something to tell you, but are You Listening?

One of the most important parts of equine sports massage isn’t the technique — it’s listening to the horse.

Every horse tells us something through their body language: a flick of an ear, a shift in weight, a sigh, or even a gentle look in the eye. These small cues guide us through the treatment, showing where to slow down, when to pause, and how to adjust our approach to what that individual horse needs in that moment.

No two horses are the same — so no two massage sessions should be either. By truly listening and responding, we build trust, support relaxation, and help the horse’s body release tension in a way that feels safe and effective.

✨ The best results come when we stop “doing” massage to the horse… and start working with them.
