Please remember we advise to use eardrops prior to your appointment. We always recommend both unless it has been confirmed to be only in one ear. Often people find one ear is worse then the other but both are blocked.

If you are going away on holiday and have previously had earwax build up issues. Good idea would be to get your ears checked prior to your holiday. Many people have their holidays ruined when going into a swimming pool. If you have impacted wax, once water enters the ears it can soften/expand it , causing difficulty hearing.

I frequently get asked if the individual I'm treating is the worst I've seen.

It's very difficult to compare people and the level of difficulty faced when removing earwax.
Usually when someone has very narrow ear canals/ almost closing, this is one of the greatest challenges. We have to be very careful as we don't have much room to work with.

We advise all our patients to use ear drops prior to booking their appointments. This helps soften the earwax. Not everyone will follow the guidance we give. We advise to use olive oil or sodium bicarbonate ear drops. Always lay on your side and allow to soak for 10 minutes each ear.

We can only do our best and try and remove the earwax using further eardrops during the appointment.
Sometimes it may result in a second appointment to complete the procedure and this is charged at a discount.

Everyone has different types of wax, some have very hard impacted wax almost hard as stone. Other produce soft wax which is easier to work with.

Earwax should generally work it's way out. For some people this mechanism doesn't work and ends up blocking the ear.

We have a few slots available this Friday afternoon. We do not have anything earlier unless there is a cancellation.
We do advise people to apply olive oil minimum 2 to 3 days prior to booking your appointment. This will allow the wax to be soft enough to remove easily.

Always ensure you have softened the ear wax prior to your appointment. We recommend all our patients to soften the earwax a minimum 2 to 3 days before the appointment. If earwax has been softened properly, the wax is easy to remove and pain free. Hard wax can cause discomfort.
