As funeral directors and working with like minded colleagues we strive to provide the best personal service to the families we serve and respectfully give their loved ones the ‘send off’ they deserve.
We try and honour long standing traditions including paging the hearse.
We do this in all weather conditions (as shown) in all locations- why? Because we believe it shows respect for the person who has passed.
Sadly though we are faced with more and more people not having the patience and respect for the funeral procession and have had a couple of near misses from drivers who have been impatient and sped past.
Cutting in between following cars is also happening more frequently.
I appreciate we are a little slower on the road and we can cause tail backs and we know people have busy lives and have ‘places to go - people to see’, but your patience and courtesy means the absolute world to families- genuinely it does. This is a difficult drive, the last those families will have with their loved one.
So if you do happen to find yourself in traffic behind a funeral procession, please just bare in mind what the journey means to those in front of you.
Thank you 🎩
