Proteins are essential for the body’s growth, repair, and maintenance. They play a key role in healing and tissue repair by supporting a variety of processes. Here’s how they work:
1. Building Blocks (Amino Acids): Proteins are made up of amino acids, which are the building blocks of cells, tissues, and organs. When the body experiences damage—such as from injury, surgery, or exercise—it requires proteins to rebuild and repair tissues like muscles, skin, bones, and organs.
2. Tissue Repair and Growth: After an injury, muscle strain, or even normal wear and tear, the body breaks down damaged tissues and uses amino acids from dietary proteins to synthesize new tissue. For example, proteins like collagen are vital in healing wounds by forming new skin, blood vessels, and connective tissue.
3. Enzymes and Hormones: Proteins act as enzymes and hormones that regulate bodily functions necessary for repair. Enzymes, which are proteins, speed up chemical reactions in the body, such as breaking down damaged tissues, synthesizing new proteins, or promoting wound healing. Hormones like insulin, also a protein, regulate metabolism, helping cells use energy efficiently for repair.

Our environment is not what it once was!

Today there are more:-

Distractions than ever before
Hyper palatable hedonic foods
Stressors pulling you in every direction
False information from apparent gurus
And social pressures to keep up with

We are constantly jumping from pillar to post or if you are a social media ju**ie post to post.

The other day whilst speaking to a client i happened to say this, if you don’t master your environment then it will master you.

So here’s the lesson, and to quote a childhood hero of mine “a true ninja is a master of himself and his environment” 🥷🐢💙.

Masters Fitness was founded by me, Daniel Masters, back in 2002. 🙂

A friend inspired me to become a fitness trainer back in 2001 and I haven’t looked back since.

Since then I’ve always believed in providing the very best personal training services and I’ve passed that onto the team around me. And that’s why I believe continuous professional development is important.
