Today we teamed up with some colleagues at Thomas for Blackburn’s SpoGomi!

We had a great day connecting with like minded people in the litter picking competition hosted by our partners at Red Rose Recovery which was great fun, whilst helping to clean up our local areas 🥰

Together the groups collected 1222kg of rubbish 🙌 Huge well done to all who took part!

Come join the teams tomorrow for fun and connection whilst looking after our local environment 🍃

This will be followed on with food and forum activities in the afternoon 😁

⚠️ Injectable naloxone (Prenoxad) has a 3-year shelf life, and many kits across the UK will reach their expiry in October 2025.

Please take a moment to check your kit’s expiry date. If it’s due to expire, return it to your local drug service for a free replacement.

The NHS's ovarian cancer van is visiting Blackburn this week as part of the 'Know your ovaries' campaign which aims to raise awareness of the symptoms of ovarian cancer.

In the UK, more than 7000 women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer yearly. Of those, only around one third are diagnosed at stage one or two, with over 50 per cent of cancers sadly diagnosed at advanced stages.

Trained volunteers on board the van can provide information, interactive symptom checkers, and signposting to support groups and healthcare providers.

To learn more about ovarian cancer signs and symptoms, and where to go for help, you can pop along to the van when it's in Blackburn this week:
