The Resuscitation Council UK has launched its Guidelines 2025 — and we’re all set to roll them out at NWMA.

What does this mean?

More focus on doing something rather than doing nothing, even stronger action from bystanders, and updated guidance for trainers and support staff.

At NWMA, we’re updating our training now so you’ll always be learning the latest best practice.

🚑 National Sepsis Day 🚑

Today we’re raising awareness of sepsis – sometimes called blood poisoning – a life-threatening reaction to an infection.

Sepsis can affect anyone, but it’s more common and more dangerous in:

👶 very young children
👵 older adults
💉 people with weakened immune systems, or serious illnesses

Spotting sepsis early saves lives.

Look out for the signs:
#
• Slurred speech or confusion
• Extreme shivering, muscle pain, or fever
• Passing no urine in a day
• Severe breathlessness
• Skin mottled, pale or bluish

If you or someone else shows these symptoms, seek medical help urgently – call 999 or go to A&E.
