π National Sepsis Day π
Today weβre raising awareness of sepsis β sometimes called blood poisoning β a life-threatening reaction to an infection.
Sepsis can affect anyone, but itβs more common and more dangerous in:
πΆ very young children
π΅ older adults
π people with weakened immune systems, or serious illnesses
Spotting sepsis early saves lives.
Look out for the signs:
#
β’ Slurred speech or confusion
β’ Extreme shivering, muscle pain, or fever
β’ Passing no urine in a day
β’ Severe breathlessness
β’ Skin mottled, pale or bluish
If you or someone else shows these symptoms, seek medical help urgently β call 999 or go to A&E.
At Northwest Medical Assistance we see first-hand how critical early action is. Knowing the signs could save your life, or someone elseβs.
π Please share this post to spread awareness.
