September is month. Gynae cancer refers to different cancers that affect the female reproductive system. These include: Womb, Ovarian, Cervical, Vaginal and Vulval.

Vaginal cancer is a rare cancer, with the two main symptoms:
➡️ a lump in the va**na
➡️ ulcers and other skin changes in or around the va**na

If you have any of these symptoms, it’s important that you contact your GP.

‼️Weight Loss Injections Not Available at GP Practices‼️
🚫At Layton Medical Centre, we cannot prescribe weight loss medications like Mounjaro (tirzepatide) or Wegovy (semaglutide).🚫
This is because:
- We are not funded to provide these injections and the essential ongoing support they require (dietary, psychological, exercise, and medical monitoring).
NHS Lancashire & South Cumbria has instructed GPs not to prescribe these medications at this time.
Who is eligible?
Only patients referred to specialist NHS weight management services with:
✔️ BMI ≥ 40 (or 37.5 for some ethnicities)
✔️ At least 4 serious weight-related health conditions (e.g. type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, etc.)
📌 These medications carry risks and need specialist supervision.
Please do not contact your GP for weight loss jabs.

From Monday 9th June, our new online system PATCHS will be live!

To help us manage demand and keep our phone lines available for urgent calls, please use PATCHs for:

✅ Routine appointment requests
✅ Repeat prescriptions/medication queries
✅ Sick note requests

💬 If you don’t have internet access or a smartphone, don’t worry — our reception team can submit a PATCHS request for you.
