Running for Tom: The Road to £100k! 💙

Meet Bex and Hannah, two incredible supporters on a mission for Blue Skies. On Sunday, 31st May, they’ll be hitting the streets for the AJ Bell Great Manchester Run (10k) in loving memory of their friend Becky's brother, Tom.

Since losing Tom to Leukaemia in 2020, Becky has been a fundraising force, already raising a staggering £70,000 for the Blue Skies Hospitals Fund. She’s determined to hit her goal of £100,000, and she’s not doing it alone!

Hannah and Bex have stepped up to help Becky bridge the gap, and together they’ve already raised £525 towards this latest challenge. Every step they take in Manchester brings us closer to hitting that incredible six-figure milestone for patient care at Blackpool Victoria Hospital.

Bobby had the best time visiting the wonderful Reception pupils at St. Kentigern’s Catholic Primary School today! 🏫✨

To support a great cause during Lent, these superstars ditched their uniforms and donated £1 to wear something blue. Together, they raised a fantastic total of £290.80! 👏💰

This generous donation will be split between the Cardiac Department and A&E, making a real difference for patients and staff. 🏥❤️

💜 Wear It Purple for Zoe! 💜

A massive thank you to the wonderful team and families at Kids Planet Cleveleys for their incredible fundraising efforts in honour of Zoe and the unit that supported her!

Zoe’s mum, Alicia, knows the NICU at Blackpool Victoria Hospital all too well. Having had three premature babies, her middle daughter Zoe spent a month in NICU care back in July 2024. Now 19 months old, Zoe continues to be a little warrior while navigating health journeys related to her early start.

To show their support, her nursery went all out! By wearing purple for World Prematurity Day and hosting a delicious cake sale, they raised a fantastic £112.23 for Blackpool Victoria Hospitals NICU! 🎂✨

Alicia has turned her experience into a lifeline for others. She now runs a dedicated Facebook support group: ‘NICU Parents of Blackpool Victoria Hospital’. Supporting past and present NICU parents looking for a community that understands.

Thank you, Kids Planet Cleveleys, for helping us support our littlest patients and their families. 💙

Are you looking for a rewarding way to give back to your local community? Blue Skies Hospital Fund is recruiting friendly, dedicated volunteers to help enhance patient care across Blackpool, Fylde, and Wyre.

We are looking for individuals to fill several key roles:

• Shop & Trolley Volunteers: Help run our retail shops in the Cardiac and Outpatients areas or bring refreshments and a friendly chat directly to patients on the wards with our mobile trolley service.

• Event Volunteers: Support our local events (like the "Walkies for Wards" or "Dragon Boat Festival") by helping with registrations, merchandise sales, and collections.

Last year, our incredible volunteers gave over 8,100 hours of their time to support our NHS staff and patients!

Happy Mother's Day! 🌷

It’s all about the little things that make a big difference! 🛁💙

We are so pleased to have funded 6 new shower caddies for the Transitional Care (TC) rooms on the Neonatal Unit, one for every bathroom.

This change came directly from parent feedback. Previously, there was nowhere to store toiletries, meaning mums often had to place items on the floor. For those recovering from a C-section, bending down can be incredibly difficult and painful.

Now, parents staying with their newborns have a convenient place for their essentials, making their stay just a little bit easier during a challenging time.

A huge thank you to everyone who supports Blue Skies, your donations help us listen to patients and make these vital improvements happen! 🌈✨

Huge thanks to the incredible SDEC/MAC team who have been busy "brewing" up support for Blue Skies!

In just two months, their legendary tea trolley has raised a further £146.33 through spare change and donations. This comes right on the heels of the £126.03 they collected previously! ✨

They have kindly donated a fantastic range of new seating to support the patients and families at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals, including:
