From the point a customer applies for a property through MyHomeChoiceFyldeCoast, to the maintenance and repairs, the management of anti-social behaviour and estate management and the involvement of customers in service delivery, BCH aims to provide the best housing services to all of its customers. BCH sees its role as more than just a housing provider and wants to help its residents develop and aspire to be the best they can be. We appreciate the importance of involving customers in everything we do, and as a result has a wide variety of involvement methods including survey groups, improvement panels, mystery shoppers, BCH wardens and a higher level Scrutiny panel called TOWER. You can help to reduce condensation in your home in many ways:
- Ventilate your property by opening windows and trickle vents
- Keep your home warm. If possible, keep your heating on a low setting around 15 degrees
- Use saucepan lids and extractor fans when cooking and keep doors closed where possible
- Dry washing outside where possible, and if drying inside use a clothes rack. Don't dry on radiators

💧Black mould is caused by a buildup of condensation.
💧Condensation is very common and affects almost all homes.
💧It is caused by moisture in the air coming into contact with cold surfaces such as windows and walls.
💧Moisture in the air is caused by the day to day activities we all do, such as cooking, showering, breathing and drying clothes.
💧Condensation can cause dampness and mould within your home which can create a distinctive musty smell.

On 27th October 2025, new legislation comes into force regarding changes to how BCH deal with damp and mould in residents homes. This is called Awaab's Law.

The aim of this new law is to ensure that damp and mould is identified and dealt with quickly, and that residents are kept informed as to what works are being completed and how long they will take.
