We also take pride in the development of our people and support colleagues to grow in their roles, acquire new skills and obtain recognised qualifications. Today we’re celebrating International Women’s Day and recognising the incredible women across FCMS and the wider healthcare community.

From our NHS 111 teams and urgent treatment centres to diagnostics, dental services and the many roles behind the scenes, women play a vital part in delivering compassionate, high-quality care every day.

We’re especially proud of the many women in leadership across FCMS whose dedication, expertise and commitment help guide our services and support our teams. Their hard work and passion for helping people continue to make a real difference to patients and communities.

Tom is a member of our CAS team and is cycling from Ambleside to Poulton today in memory of his Dad, Mark.

He’s joined by his friends and taking on this 64 mile challenge - one mile for every year of his life.

All funds raised will be going to Trinity Hospice who cared for his Dad in his final days.

🏅 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐨𝐧

We’re incredibly proud of our Inclusion Health Team who have received a certificate of recognition from the ministry of defence for their work supporting families under the Entitled Persons Scheme in Weeton.

What began as a six-week temporary provision in November 2023 continued through to January 2026, during which time the team delivered primary care to over 700 patients.

Working alongside partner agencies, the team helped reduce barriers to healthcare for families from Afghanistan who have helped the British Forces who were then targeted by the Taliban.

In partnership with the charity 'Together we can Do', our Bowel Screening Service is here to make a difference. Bowel cancer is one of the UK’s most common cancers, and early detection is crucial, especially for individuals with learning disabilities who are less likely to complete their screening.

📞 If you're aged 50-74 with a registered learning disability or know someone who is, please reach out to us!

Carers, family members, GP practices, primary care networks, social workers, and learning disability teams can all refer individuals.

🎄 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗮𝘀 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 🌊

FCMS were back on the dunes in St Anne’s this week, giving last Christmas’s trees a brand-new purpose.

Instead of heading to landfill, the trees are planted into the sand where they help slow the wind, trap moving sand and strengthen the dunes. Over time, this supports natural dune formation and protects the coastline from erosion.

It’s a simple idea with a powerful impact - and a great example of how sustainability starts with practical action.

🎓 Apprenticeships Jobs Fair at Blackpool and The Fylde College!

Last week, our training team attended the apprenticeship jobs fair at Blackpool & The Fylde College, where we were promoting the apprenticeships and career opportunities available at FCMS.

With over 1,000 college students plus learners from local schools in attendance, it was great to speak with so many students about their future pathways, job roles, and how an apprenticeship can support their careers.

A big thank you to Blackpool and The Fylde College for hosting a great event and to everyone who stopped by our stand to chat with the team! 🙏

🗣️Today is Time to Talk Day, a national awareness day encouraging open conversations about mental health.

Creating safe, welcoming spaces is important because it helps people feel comfortable to talk when something's on their mind.

Across our services, it’s been really positive to see staff taking time out to connect. From busy, chat-filled rooms in Morecambe to quieter one-to-one moments in Fleetwood, colleagues have been sharing, listening and supporting each other throughout the day.

Sometimes a simple conversation can make a real difference. 💙
