We have designed three courses ( Baby hands and feet - Twin hand casting and adult half/full body casting) Each course taking candidates through step by step processes to create great detailed casts with confidence.

Each course covers Health & Safety Protocols. How to effectively work with quick set and medium set alginates. Preparing moulds for pouring and effective use of industry standard cast and finishing products.

Level 1 Course Twin Hand and Twin Arm Embrace Casting
Level 2 Course Baby Hand & Feet Casting
Level 3 Course Half Body Casting

All materials and equipment are provided. Each course level is a two day course and learn as you work principle is adopted.
Candidates must be 18 and over. Evening classes are available which covers 8 segments.

Memorial Casting
Facing losing a loved one or going through a loss is very traumatic. Memories and keep sakes become all the more important as timely reminders.
We produce hand castings in pose positions that really highlight the emotion and bond you have with your loved ones and produce casts that would be a precious reminder for many years to come.
Whether facing end of life or recently lost a loved one we would work with you to produce a cast where loved ones and family can hold the hand of of the soon to depart. Producing a work that would be so valuable for many years. If the loss is recent, we work with funeral homes, hospital's and hospices that we can attend and take a cast of hands. We also carry out face castings.

ADULT LIFE CASTING .. THE PROCESS
For those who wish to be considered for life casting in whatever pose or genre they like to have carried out and which we routinely cast. We operate a very strict and safeguarded process from contact to cast completion. This process operates for those we employ to model for us and those that are private clients. The process is herein explained so if interested you will be assured that you will be treated in the utmost respect.
1 A conversation will take place to discuss the type of casting offered or you wish to have carried out. This is normally carried out in writing via email or messenger service. If discussed via a phone call a draft of the agreed pose and pay rate is confirmed in writing.

2 A Contract and Information sheet is sent out via email. The Contract clearly states the type of cast offered/requested together with your Personal I'D Number.
The Contract clearly outlines the following points
That you are over 18
That you are an adult that does not suffer ANY Mental Impairment or Behaviourial Condition that would impede or interfere with your ability to understand and accept what is expected and involved during the casting process.
That you bring an adult who is over 18 to the casting session
That the Contract states the fee agreed and the type of cast agreed
That the Contract is only valid for that cast type.

3 The Model or client returns the confirmation via email that they agree to the Contract and stating their issued I'D Number.

4 The Client is given a 72 Hour Cooling off period to withdraw their agreement. After 72 hours the Client returns a confirmation that they wish to proceed with the Casting.

5 If the Model is not previously known to us and has agreed and returned the Contract. Three sample images are requested to be supplied. It is clearly stated that non of the supplied images are to show face or any identifiable features that would reveal their identity. Images may be taken by us if the Model is in our presence and with their prior consent. Also an image is requested that shows the Identity of the Model/Client that they are indeed over 18. This is usually a picture I'D. Images are retained in order to assertain a casting pose and change pose position before casting takes place. The Model/Client will be informed of the pose position and agreed before casting session takes place.

6. An agreed date and time of casting is made. Procedure's of the Casting would have been explained prior to casting session.

7 Models are paid on the Casting Appointments or an agreed date. Clients are required to pay a deposit before the Casting Appointment

Models and Clients are advised in advance of which venue the casting will take place. Each of our premises are designed and operate to cast differing disciplines. Children, couples hand casts and family hand casts are carried out at our dedicated venue. Large castings are taken in a more industrial setting for obvious reasons.

We have the right to cancel any casting session if we feel that the model or client has been coerced or made to be casted by the influence of a third party. We will NOT PROCEED with casting if we suspect or have reasonable belief that this is the case.

The Model or client is involved in the production of the cast being produced. Images are sent during all the processes of production and artworks. This is usually agreed via and through email.

If we have to cancel a casting appointment we will pay a further fee to the Model or reduce the casting cost to the client at the same rate.

Each Contract is only valid for one casting production. Often Models and clients will have more than one type of casting carried out and a separate Contract is made for such.

A strict confidentiality regime exists and operates throughout the processes. This is honoured by us on a very strict basis. This is a requirement for both parties and only in the need to adhere to law and legal proceedings will we relax this condition.

This is the protocol we at Black Bear operate and have done since the start of the business. This practice is used routinely and we always safeguard all throughout .
