Last night's meditation class was observing the emotional body.
I guided everyone into relaxation and feeling safe in their bodies, safe enough to feel what emotions were present for everyone. Sometimes we don't feel safe enough to feel the big emotions and often we get so used to stuffing them down. So, last night we followed the emotion. What part of the body it comes from.. How it moves with awareness on it... Any restrictions or barriers in the way of it moving fully... The expansion and contraction of the emotion... Where does it end... How does it want to move around...
Bringing awareness to these emotions not only helps us process them but we are also practicing feeling safe to feel them. Often anxiety is caused due to an avoidance to feeling an emotion. The more we feel, the more we live in our truth.
