After a few hic cups and delays, our Cwmbran store is at the point of opening ( at last!)
We are looking to recruit one more part time person for approx 16 hours a week, plus also a person as part of the national young Apprentice Scheme ( 26+ hours)

So we finally made the decision. After almost three years in Crickhowell, we are closing the shop. So tough because it is actually a profitable little business but just doesnt make sense when compared with our Abergavenny store just down the road.

The better news is that we open in Cwmbran Shopping centre in July. Actually that helped with the decision as its another much larger store. So as one door closes, another door opens.

Ebay
As many of you know , we sell a lot of product on ebay and frankly not as much on our own web site. This is a situation we would ultimately like to reverse ( to reduce fees). The reality is that postage costs have gone crazy and we havnt really increased our prices, nor do we want to.

if you are currently buying on ebay, can you help us to understand why that is better than our web site ( since it is the same price and our site has almost three times as many items) . We really want o learn, so we can develop a plan to help clients migrate.

Our Abergavenny store continues to grow and we require three part time staff, to work on a shift rotation as below
Week 1 Sunday +Monday
Week 2 Tuesday +Wednesday
Week 2 Thursday + Friday
Occasional Saturdays also required.

We are not adverse to having three non rotational shifts ( ie you work the same days every week) but this will depend on the applicants in total.

Applicants must be professional, friendly and have a keen desire to build a retail sales career. We are passionate about the customers in store experience.

Driving is also helpful, so that you could provide occasional cover in our new Cwmbran store if needed.

Full product and sales training given.

We have had so many emails regarding the make up we used for the filming of In her Easter Bonnet, that we decided to lay it out in a couple of postings. So lets start with Ella.
Prior to make up we used a Mother Nature;s Goodies Baby Balm to moisturise and prep the skin. Like all our products. it is natural and very light and easily absorbed.
Next Phoebe applied Inika Organic Certified Perfection Primer. The idea here was to reduce shine under the camera lighting and give control throughout the day. We thought this would then help the make up last longer and avoid the need for re touching.
Ella's skin was amazing and needed very little product so we used just a suggestion of Inika Radiant Glow And Certified Organic BB cream mixed, to create a lighter , dewy, glowing coverage. She looked fresh and radiant. Her skin "popped" on camera yet looked amazingly natural
Next the teeniest bit of Inika certified Organic Perfection Concealer. This helps camouflage any imperfections, disguise any dark circles and even out skin tone. It is a lovely product and feels fresh and light whilst crucially isn't thick around the eyes. We followed this with our dual usage ( and therefore amazing value) Inika Lip and Cheek Cream in Dust and Petal shade. This is nutrient enriched and creates a very natural finish whilst aiding skin.
In every day usage BB Cream does not require setting but for filming we set with an Inika Baked Mineral Foundation. Then building on the dewy glow, we used Inika Cream Illuminisor ( Shade Rose and Gold) on cheekbones to lift and glow. Moving to brows we applied Inika Brow Perfector to thicken and nourish before moving to the eyes.
Here we used Inika Pressed Mineral Eye Shadow Duo ( chocolate and Coffee shade) with Cream Illuminisor ( Spice shade) on the lid. lashes were a combination of Inika Curvy lash vegan mascara and Black organic Eye Pencil. Last but not least Ella's lips enjoyed an Inika organic Lipstick Crayon ( shade Rose Petal and Rose N**e) followed by a touch of Inika Lip balm to enhance the natural finish on top of the crayon. EASY!!!

Busy few days. We were delighted to play a tiny supporting role in the filming of the song "In her Easter Bonnet by Irving Berlin, on behalf of the Abergavenny Arts festival.
The song was performed by Russell Jones Jnr who you may remember from X factor and was helped by model/dancer Ella Louise Appleby.

So what did we actually do? Both popped down to our Abergavenny store and we provided make up prior to the filming. It was a great outing for our new range of Inika Organic, vegan, fully natural make up. If looks are anything to go by, it is already a winner in my book but you decide. We were going for a fresh, peachy, natural look.

How spooky is this. Russell told me that he was already a customer, having dropped by before Xmas to buy a present for his sister who is a fan of lavender oil. He is going to pop back with his Mum.
We loved being a small part of this fun project, and working with Creative Director Vivienne Sharman-Lewis of Visionspr ltd.
A big thanks should go to all involved. It is so refreshing to have somethings bright and cheerful in these lockdown days.
The hats by Andrea's Closet Millinery were a triumph and the Melville Theatre such a local treasure and so supportive of the project. The actual filming was undertaken by 47 Studios and Productions.
