This wee story below tickled me

Symbolically, the practice of Bhramari Pranayama clears all the demons in our mind - stress, pain, anger, anxiety, and restlessness. It is usually practiced in Sukhasana while producing a humming sound, with three fingers covering the eyes, the index finger above the eyebrows and the thumb on the tragus. The fingers are aligned in Shanmukhi Mudra. Through the humming sound, the pranayama helps to focus, and frees one from the five desires embodied by Kamdev's arrows. The self healing nature of Bhramari Pranayama helps one to heal from within, to calm down and nurture peace. Just like how bees spread honey, this pranayama technique enables practitioners to spread kindness, compassion, and sweetness in this world. โœ…

One of the magical concepts of yoga is that the door is never closed, once you join the tribe, you never really leave. Let's call it the Hotel California ๐Ÿ™‚. We forget that life changes, commitments alter and situations get in the way of our practice, and that's absolutely A-okay ๐Ÿ‘ŒThen sometimes yoga just "feels right". Like in certain seasons of the year or when life pulls us up about something unexpected. These are the times we often feel the calling back to the mat.

I was speaking to a friend recently who is struggling just now and reminded her that feeling unbalanced and "off" can be a simple case of just doing too much. Especially at this time of year, remembering it's vata season....remembering to let the leaves fall, like those great natural teachers, trees, those heavenly messengers.

As people move into mid-life, they are also in the vata season of their lives, which doubles the ungrounded effect, so Autumn can feel even more out of control. Don't forget your yoga and if you feel the call, come back to your mat. We will be waiting with a smile. Namaste ๐Ÿ™
