Did you know that much of the food our residents enjoy at Sydenham House Care Home comes from our very own farm, just up the road? 🚜💛

At Awre Farm, we grow fresh, seasonal produce and rear livestock that supply our kitchen with high-quality, nutritious ingredients — from eggs and vegetables to meat and dairy.

This farm-to-fork approach means:
✔️ Fresher, healthier meals every day
✔️ A lower environmental impact
✔️ Full traceability and quality in everything we serve
✔️ And delicious, comforting food our residents love!

What a wonderful day we had on Saturday at our Annual Summer Fête – and it’s all thanks to you!

From live music and laughter to games, great food, and sunshine, the day was packed with joy, community spirit, and heartwarming moments. 🌞🎶

🔨✨ A Little Freshen-Up at Sydenham House! ✨🔨

You may have noticed the scaffolding up at Sydenham House over the past few weeks and wondered what’s been going on...

Well, we’re excited to share that our beautiful home has been getting a little TLC! 💛 From brand new wet rooms to fresh furniture and general maintenance, we’ve been working hard to ensure our residents continue to enjoy a safe, comfortable, and uplifting environment.

It’s all part of our commitment to providing the highest standard of care in a home that truly feels like home.

Curious to see the changes? Come along to our Summer Fête on Saturday 16th August for a warm welcome, plenty of fun, and a glimpse at the wonderful improvements we’ve made.

With the recent warm weather, it’s more important than ever to ensure our elderly loved ones stay cool, comfortable, and well-hydrated. 🌡️💧

At Sydenham House Care Home, we’re taking extra steps to protect our residents during the hot spell, including:
✅ Offering cool drinks throughout the day
✅ Keeping rooms shaded and well-ventilated
✅ Encouraging light clothing and sun hats
✅ Limiting time in direct sunlight
✅ Providing plenty of rest and indoor activities

Older adults are more vulnerable to heat-related illness, so even a short spell of hot weather can have an impact. If you have elderly family, friends, or neighbours living alone, now’s a great time to check in with them. A quick call or visit could make all the difference. 💛
