❄️🧣 Freezing Temperatures: Keeping Our Residents Safe & Warm 🧣❄️

With the recent drop in temperatures, it’s more important than ever to ensure older adults are kept warm, comfortable and well.

At Sydenham House Care Home, we take extra steps to protect our residents during cold weather, including:
✔️ Cosy layers, thermal clothing and blankets
✔️ Regular hot drinks and hearty, warming meals
✔️ Heated rooms monitored throughout the day
✔️ Extra wellbeing checks to ensure everyone is safe and comfortable

If you’re caring for an elderly loved one at home, here are a few simple tips to help them stay warm:
🧤 Keep indoor temperatures above 18°C
🧦 Encourage cosy layers, even indoors
☕ Offer warm drinks and small meals throughout the day
🛏️ Use blankets and draught stoppers to keep bedrooms snug
📞 Check in regularly, a quick call or visit goes a long way

Let’s all look out for our older friends, neighbours and relatives during this cold snap. 💜

❄️🧣 The Temperature is Dropping – Keep Warm & Well 🧣❄️

As the colder weather sets in, it’s more important than ever to make sure our elderly loved ones are staying safe, warm, and well. 🧤

Older adults feel the cold more easily and are more vulnerable to illness when temperatures fall. At Sydenham House Care Home, we’re keeping our residents cosy with:
✔️ Warm meals and hot drinks
✔️ Heated rooms and cosy blankets
✔️ Extra layers and thermal clothing
✔️ Regular health and wellbeing checks

If you have an elderly friend, neighbour or family member living alone, now’s the perfect time to check in. A warm drink, a kind word, or a helping hand can make all the difference. 💛

🌺 Remembrance Day 🌺
“At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them.”

Today, we pause to honour and remember the brave men and women who served, sacrificed, and gave so much for the freedoms we enjoy today.

At Sydenham House Care Home, Remembrance Day holds deep meaning for many of our residents — some of whom lived through the war years or have family who served. It’s a time for reflection, for sharing stories, and for honouring those we’ve lost.

Together, we wear our poppies with pride.
Together, we remember. ❤️
