NHS App

We would like to ask patients to download the NHS App and SWITCH ON notifications.

The NHS is urging patients to switch on notifications in the NHS app to ensure they receive vital, timely and secure updates about their health and appointments.

📱Why you need to turn notifications ON!!

Turning on notifications for the NHS App is crucial as it ensures you are immediately alerted when a new message has been sent to your secure inbox with the App. This service is gradually replacing traditional text messages (SMS) and letters for many communications.

The messages are safe and dependable

Without notifications enabled you may not be instantly aware of new messages, potentially delaying your response to critical health information.

📱How to switch on notifications in the NHS App-

To make sure you do not miss messages from your GP practice turn on notifications in your NHS App.

☑️ Open the NHS App on your smartphone
☑️Tap account Settings (top right corner)
☑️Scroll down to settings and tap on notifications
☑️ Tap go to device settings
☑️Enable notifications

Once enabled you will receive messages from your GP practice whenever there is an important update about your healthcare.

💙April is Bowel Cancer Awareness month 💙

Bowel cancer is one of the most common cancers, but it’s treatable and curable especially if caught early

The NHS bowel screening test can detect signs of cancer before symptoms appear

It’s quick simple and can be done at home

If you’re aged 50-74 and registered with a GP you’ll receive a kit by post

Don’t be put off - do the test 💙

We are aware of recent national reports of Meningitis B infections.
At this time, there is no impact on our local area, and we are waiting for official advice from the government. We will update you as soon as guidance is issued.

General symptoms of meningitis can include:

* a high temperature (fever)
* being sick
* a headache
* a rash that does not fade when a glass is rolled over it (but a rash will not always develop)
* a stiff neck
* a dislike of bright lights
* drowsiness or unresponsiveness
* seizures (fits)

These symptoms can appear in any order. You do not always get all the symptoms.

Babies may show different signs, such as poor feeding, irritability, floppiness, cold hands/feet, or difficulty waking.

Call 999 for an ambulance or go to your nearest A&E immediately if you think you or someone you look after could have meningitis or sepsis.

Trust your instincts and do not wait for all the symptoms to appear or until a rash develops. Someone with meningitis or sepsis can get a lot worse very quickly.

Call NHS 111 for advice if you're not sure if it's anything serious or you think you may have been exposed to someone with meningitis.

If you've had medical advice and are still worried or any symptoms get worse, get medical help again.
