βπ§οΈβ What a lovely day!! Get your 'brolly out and thermals on! Or just stay in the warmth and keep out the wet!
The old wife's tale of 'feeling the rain in my bones' holds some weight from different research.
Although not fully understood why, some people may feel more stiff and uncomfortable if it rains, the air pressure drops and wind levels rise ! π¬οΈ
Some possible explanations are:
* Low air pressure may allow soft tissues/scar tissue to expand = increased pressure.
* Increase in viscosity of synovial fluid (joint lubricant) = stiffer joints.
*Pressure change could trigger nerve sensitivity in the joint capsule
*We perhaps become less active in times of wet, cold weather which leads to further stiffness.
Top tips:
* Wrap up warm with layers
* Use a neoprene wrap/ support around the joint
* Keep up with little exercises
* Fly abroad!! βοΈ .... And come back when it's warmer π
