What have you actually DONE this week?

Everyone wants to look awesome.

Feel way more confident.

Be stronger, fitter and healthier.

But everyone also has a bunch of reasons why they can't.

One question I ask my clients is "if not, why not?"

Does the plan need adjusting?

What can I do to better support you?

OR...

Are you just being a bit lazy?

More often than not, the reason you aren't achieving your goals isn't deep or complex...

You just need to put a bit more effort in and actually DO the plan.

Here's a little about me and what I do...

I've been a 1 on 1 Personal Trainer for over 15 years.

I work with a mixture of people and I don't have a super specific niche.

And tbh, I love it that way.

I love seeing different people all day and having different conversations.

The fitness industry is now flooded with online coaches and AI but the thing I do best is work with real people in person.

My clients aren't pro athletes or bodybuilders, they're Mum's and Dad's who just want to feel strong and confident again.

I'm a Husband and Father of 3 myself and I place the highest value on my health and longevity.

I believe lifting weights, staying active and eating a sensible diet can change your life so that's what I help my clients with.

Save these for your next arm day 💪

There's a ton of fancy new exercises on social media these days.

A bunch of teenage tik tokers attaching themselves to cables in all sorts of positions and angles.

We've forgotten the basics.

A simple pair of dumbells can lead to incredible results when used correctly.

My goal as a Personal Trainer is to meet my client where they are at.

What their current schedule looks like.

Their history with exercise and eating.

Their goal for the next 6-12 months.

And then I build a plan around that so they can sustain it consistently 90% of the time.

There will be missed workouts and bad eating days, they are human.

But we don't fall "off" there is no such thing.

If you keep telling yourself and others that you are "all or nothing" because you went to the gym for a month and then stopped for a year, pack it in.

You're inconsistent.

Set a goal that matters to you and have a plan to get there.

Everything on IG is polarising and extreme.

It has to be, that's what gets engagement and follows.

But I'm just a bit done with it 🤷‍♂️

I've been fortunate enough to work with some great people in the last 15 years, some of them for my whole career.

None of them care about half the stuff that's tending online.

They just want to feel good.

They want to feel stronger, fitter and healthier.

Unfortunately, that sounds quite boring on social media compared to "photoshoot shape" and 5% body fat.
..and I'm not knocking it if that's your goal.

But if you just want to get started in the gym and improve your life through improved health and fitness then there's space for you too.

I currently have some availability for in person training.

Back after a lovely seaside week away with my loves ❤️

I'd love to tell you I'm refreshed and ready to go but anyone with small children would know I'm lying 😂

A week of no training and a semi relaxed diet...led to a tooth infection which has been keeping me up at night.

BUT despite all that, my children's joy brings me joy and that's all that matters.

Back to business tomorrow 💪

We all love our fitness trackers telling us how well we've done.

You even love telling your mates that you burn 3,000 calories during spin.

But yet, you're still not getting the results you want.

You still look no different.

You may be fitter, stronger and healthier of course, which is incredible!

But if your goal is fat loss, you need to stop turning a blind eye to what you eat.

You need to stop telling yourself that you "burn it off" because you're not.

Out of all the things to track, when it comes to fat loss, calorie intake will always be King.

Every set, every workout, begins with a perfectly executed rep.

Now I'm not saying you have to lift like a robot.

But unless your rep technique is at least 90% on point then nothing else matters.

You can do all the sets in the world.

Train 7 days a week.

And you still won't be building muscle effectively.

Dial in your technique before worrying about anything else.

When I turned 35 at the end of '25 I got a bit fed up of my own low standards.

I could feel myself getting complacent and falling into a bit of a comfort zone.

And tbh...I hated that feeling.

I've got in semi decent shape plenty of times.

In a T-shirt I look like I lift.

Topless I look like I never say no to a slice of pizza.

And for a few years I've been ok (ish) with that.

I train regulary, I'm healthy and I'm super active.

I'm fully booked, my clients like me and they get fanstastic results regardless of my body fat %.

I play with my kids all the time and my wife fancies me...

This year I just wanted a little more for myself.

I was sick of that nagging voice reminding me I was capable of much more.

I wanted to level up in all areas of my life and it has to start with me.

So far I'm in the best shape I've been in and I'm not even half way done.

I don't want 35 > 40 to be the same as 30 > 35.

Back to it 👊

Family coffee time.

An amazing gift from an incredible friend.

I look half decent I suppose.

The best date night!

Highly recommend you see Project Hail Mary.

Tomorrow I am off for the whole week with my loved ones...I cannot wait ❤️

Eat less and move more has worked since the beginning of time and always will.

How you achieve that is very individual.

Stop getting suckered in by ads that make you feel better.

Start looking internally and improve your habits.

I promise you'll get the results you want AND it will be cheaper.
