About Little Bears Infant Massage

Babies are touched every moment whilst growing in their mother’s womb. Babies rely on touch as their first and most important form of communication. Research reveals that routine touch and massage can prove vital to baby’s growth, communication and learning through sensory stimulation. It provides precious bonding time for baby and parent/carer which can lead to healthier development for baby.

Baby massage was introduced 30 years ago and is a longstanding tradition in many cultures including India and Africa. By using gentle rhythmic strokes baby massage can provide a sense of calm and reassurance to your baby.

Here at Little Bears learn how to safely and confidently massage your baby’s delicate skin whilst nurturing their development. Massaging your baby increases oxytocin (the happy hormone) in both mother and child. Raises endorphin levels which promotes healing and a feel-good disposition. It reduces stress hormones such as cortisol and norepinephrine, so as a result, your baby becomes calmer more relaxed as their breathing and heart rate slows down.

I have sereved 15 years in the Armed Forces as a Combat Medic and qualified Paramedic. After the birth of my children I decided to leave the forces and concentrate on family life. I loved taking my daughter to massage classes but after having my son found there was no classes around to attend. This made me focus my (little) extra time on becoming an infant massage instructor and share the love and benefits massage can bring to both parent and baby. I have over two years experience with recommendations and I am fully insured.
