I get asked A LOT; “should I be getting a massage even if I don’t have any pain?”
And I always reply; “100% YES!“
Not just because it feels amazing to get a massage, but because it brings with it A LOT of benefits.
Here is my Top 3 reasons why you should be getting a massage even if you aren’t “in pain”
1. It’s your secret weapon against stress- hands up who here feels a little overwhelmed or stressed out from time to time? 🙋🏼♀️
Massage massively lowers stress levels within the body by lowing cortisol, your stress hormone and increasing oxytocin, the calming, happy, love hormone. This in turn helps with mental wellbeing (and other symptoms but that’s for another post 😉).
2. A boost for your immune system without seeing the GP - massage promotes blood circulation and stimulates the lymphatic system which helps to shift metabolic waste (basically the crap out your system) and boost white blood cells in the body. Which then also lowers that pesky cortisol hormone again…who knew 🙂therefore this all helps you fight germs quicker 👌🏻
3. THE best night’s sleep ever! Massage can improve sleep by promoting relaxation, reducing stress and anxiety, and potentially levelling out hormonal activity that influences sleep patterns.
