Roll on 2pm for some weird and wonderful answers from staff aswell as residents..🩷

Calling on your Xmas spirit.

As we get closer to christmas,we think of times we spend with family and friends in the up among weeks. Not all our residents have that luxury at this time.🩷
Im asking friends and Facebook to spare a thought and think how they can make some elderly in the community smile..
I would love it if you had the time to send some Christmas cards/messages for my residents to read and cherish.🎅🎄

December is fast approaching us. and we have loads going on..
We have Elvis singing Monday 1st Dec to kick off our festive shenanigans.
Then the naughty elves will be making an appearance so beware🤣🎅🎅🎄🎄🎄

Now the pleading bit..
I would like to do a raffle to raise funds for residents.. This will be for activities like having singers, days out or even little things like having their favourite take away.
So if anyone has any bottle of wine/spirits, chocolates, smellies or anything that would able to raffle off.
Also any local business that would like to donate all donations will be gratefully recieved.
All donations can be dropped off at The Oaks and a staff member will give it to myself for the raffle.

Today i had the absolute pleasure of looking at some hidden treasures that a residents father had collected over the years.
These medals and frame were given to his father during his time in service in the RAF in 1945.
He was awarded the Flying cross for getting his Spiffire plane across the English Channel during a difficult time as well as other medals.
He was also recieved an honourable letter from the King at that time..
Not all hero's wear capes.
Thank you again for showing a little piece of history that had enthrawled us all this afternoon.
