If you work at a screen all day, it’s advised to take a break every 20 minutes to look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds. Normally, we blink 15 times a minute on average but when looking at a screen, that can drop up to 50%

By following the 20-20-20 rule, this can give your eye muscles a rest and helps prevent dry eye and headaches

May is also known as No Mow May, where people are encouraged to leave their grass uncut and allow wildflowers to grow to attract and feed bess 🌼

We’ve been leaving a big square of grass uncut, rather than cutting it all, and it’s been lovely to see new flowers appearing

If you’d like to support bees, here are a few simple ways to help 🐝

• Choose plants with single, open flowers, making it easier for bees to access pollen and nectar
• Plant flowers in groups or clusters to attract more bees
• Go for bright, colourful plants, which are easier for bees to spot
• Include a mix of plants, trees and shrubs that flower at different times of year
• Aim to provide a steady source of food, especially between March and October, when bees are most active

The time has come…

My journey into chiropractic began 27 years ago…

At the end of May, my journey will end.

I am handing over my wonderful patients and clinic, and I am retiring from practice.

I have mixed feelings about this.

On one hand, my body is ready to hand over and step back.

On the other hand, chiropractic practice has been so incredibly rewarding over the years; I have met amazing people through my profession, both practitioners and patients.

I have made lifelong friends.

It has been truly fulfilling to help so many people live better lives.

I will miss so many of my long-term patients, and of course, my clinic team

And then there is the fear - what comes next? To be totally honest, I’m not really sure.

But I will post updates…

If you come down Carriden Brae when coming to the clinic, part of Bridgeness Road is closed down the bottom when you go round the bend but I don't think it's signposted up the top. You'd be better just following the main road all the way along to the crossroads at the petrol station and taking a right down past Richmond Park. I'm not sure how much longer they will be there for, can't seem to find out anything online 🙄

*They apparently will be there until mid June!

This week is Screen Free Week… which might feel a little overwhelming. Trying to avoid screens for a whole week these days can feel almost impossible!

Why not start smaller—maybe a screen-free evening, afternoon, or even a full day if you can manage it
