care creates companionship 💜
Over time, some of our team have brought their dogs along on visits – not as a planned activity, but simply because they knew a service user would enjoy it.
The smiles, laughter and gentle clapping say it all. For some people, a visit from a dog brings back memories. For others, it’s a moment of comfort and calm in their day.
These small, thoughtful gestures are part of what makes care feel human and personal.

care creates joy 💜
For Mary’s birthday, one of our support workers planned a lovely surprise – a trip to the local football stadium to watch her team play. Mary loves football, and the smile on her face said everything.
Sitting outside in the sunshine with her birthday sash and badge, she had the best day. It was a simple celebration, but full of joy, thoughtfulness and the kind of moments that make birthdays feel special.
At Dalriada, we’re always looking for the little opportunities that make someone’s day brighter.

care creates belonging 💜
Ronnie was supported by Dalriada for more than two decades, and in that time he became a much‑loved part of our family. For his 90th birthday, our team celebrated with him – including a bagpiper (his favourite) and a cowboy‑themed cake. He was also taken bowling with team members past and present, along with one of his close friends.
These moments show the relationships that grow over years of trust, laughter and shared routines. For Ronnie, Dalriada wasn’t just a service – it was home, connection and belonging.

care creates community 💜
McMoos is a much‑loved local café that many of the people we support enjoy visiting. It’s cosy, welcoming and always full of friendly faces – not to mention their amazing ice cream.
Visits to familiar places like McMoos help people feel connected, included and part of the community they’ve always known. A warm drink, a chat, a wee treat – these small moments make days brighter.
Supporting people to stay involved in the life of Bo’ness is a big part of what we do.

care creates connection 💜
At Dalriada, we use digital care planning through the PASS system to make our support as responsive and consistent as possible. When something needs updated, the change appears instantly for our whole team – meaning everyone has the right information at the right time.
Families can also view notes in real time and send messages directly through the app. For those who live further away, this brings real reassurance and connection.
Technology doesn’t replace the human side of care – it strengthens it. It helps us work together, communicate clearly and keep people safe at home.

care creates peace of mind for families 💜
Muriel lives at home and her family do not stay as close as they would like. She is bed managed, needs support with feeding and medication, and her dementia can sometimes make her feel very agitated. For years, her family lived with constant worry about how she was coping.
When Dalriada took over her package of care, things began to change very quickly. After just a few days, her daughter shared that it was the first time in years she felt her mum was in good hands. Watching through their security cameras, she saw how calm, professional and well‑trained the team were – and how gently they interacted with Muriel.
Knowing that her mum was safe, settled and supported brought her family the reassurance they had been waiting for.

care creates connection 💜
Thomas is a young man with complex care needs and is non‑verbal, but he communicates in so many meaningful ways. Our team know him well, and understanding those little cues – a gesture, a smile, a look – means there are no barriers to connection.
Thomas is a happy soul who loves music, and his support workers have been helping him explore this through playing guitar and getting involved in creative arts. These moments bring joy, expression and a sense of calm.
Our team also provide overnight care, giving Thomas’s family the chance to rest. This support helps reduce some of the pressure on unpaid carers and brings reassurance that Thomas is safe and settled.
It is a privilege to support Thomas and to help create small moments of connection, comfort and creativity in his day.

Care creates community 💜
For more than 35 years, Dalriada Homecare has been supporting people in the Bo’ness community to live independently in their own homes.
What began as a small family‑run service in 1990 has grown into a dedicated team of support workers helping around 90 service users across our local area.
Even as we’ve grown, one thing has never changed – our commitment to putting people first.
For us, care is about more than completing tasks. It’s about relationships, trust and helping people continue living the life they want in the place they love most – their own home.
Over the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing stories from our team as part of the campaign, highlighting the difference social care makes in people’s lives.
Because care doesn’t just support people – care creates connection, belonging and community.

Happy new year! 🎉
As we step into 2026, we want to wish all our service users, families, friends and the wider community a very happy, healthy year ahead.
To our incredible team – thank you. 💜 Your hard work, compassion and commitment make such a difference every single day. We are so proud of everything you do and the care you provide, often going above and beyond without fuss.
Here’s to a new year full of kindness, teamwork and moments to celebrate together.

A huge thank you to our incredible team who worked throughout the festive period 💜

Being there for people at Christmas isn’t easy – time away from your own families, early mornings, late finishes and going the extra mile when it really matters. We are so grateful for the compassion, commitment and professionalism you show every single day, but especially over the holidays.

A very special mention to Kirsty, who for the 8th year running has lovingly prepared Christmas dinners for our support workers to drop off to some of our service users 🎄
Each meal is a full 3 course dinner – soup to start, turkey with all the trimmings for main, and trifle to finish. A huge amount of time, care and kindness goes into every single one.

This year, we were also kindly supported by local businesses – the turkey was donated by Hope Street Cafe and the stuffing by Burns Butchers. Thank you for helping us spread a little extra festive warmth in our community 🖤

We’re so proud of our team and the kindness they show – not just at Christmas, but all year round 💪

Our service user enjoyed the most magical Christmas afternoon on Sunday at the Apex Hotel in Dunblane, accompanied by her support worker 💜

There were no tickets left for the event, but thanks to the incredible kindness of the Apex team, they still found a way to accommodate her at very short notice. From the moment she arrived, the concierge met her at the car and escorted her in – a small gesture that meant the world.

Once inside, she had an absolutely wonderful time. She sang along to the festive music, smiling from ear to ear, and even had a very special moment with Santa himself. He told her she was his special guest and then sang to her – a memory she has not stopped talking about to her team since! 🎉✨

All the staff were absolutely amazing. Their warmth, patience and special attention made her feel so welcomed and cherished throughout the whole afternoon.

What touched us even more was hearing from the hotel afterwards. The team reached out to say that she had made just as much of an impact on them, and they would be more than happy to help with anything special for our other service users or our team in the future. That kind of kindness stays with you.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone at the Apex Hotel for going above and beyond – you made her day truly magical, and we are so grateful 💜🤩🪻
