How do we keep your horses safe? 🐴💧

Biosecurity is at the heart of everything we do at Sterling Equine Therapy.

✔️ All of our staff are fully trained in strict cleaning and maintenance protocols
✔️ The treadmill is wiped down between every horse using an equine-specific disinfectant, proven to kill harmful strains of bacteria
✔️ Our water and filters go through a continuous filtering and backwashing process
✔️ Fresh, clean water is filled from the header tank
✔️ UV light is used to kill bacteria within the water before filling into the treadmill
✔️ A full backwash is carried out after every 10 horses
✔️ The treadmill also undergoes regular deep cleans, including jet washing the header plates, and thorough cleaning and greasing of the belt

What a week it’s been… ❄️

Snow-covered yards, a frozen treadmill, and winter well and truly making itself known. We hope everyone has managed to stay warm and safe through the weather.

Amidst it all, we said farewell to lovely Tilly after a month of rehabilitation livery with us. It’s been a pleasure having her here, and we wish her all the very best as she continues her journey at home 🤍

🎄 Over & out for Team Sterling (for now!) 🎄

Wow, what a busy week it his been! As we head into our Christmas shutdown, we just want to say a huge thank you for an incredible year. We’ve ticked off some big goals, seen so many horses make amazing progress, and had plenty of laughs along the way. 🐎✨

Don’t worry — we’ll be back in the New Year refreshed and ready to go. The team aren’t completely off the hook though… there’s plenty of cleaning, maintenance and exciting developments happening behind the scenes before we return. 👀💪

Introductory session success for Nova 💧✨

Every horse is unique, and Nova proved just how adaptable she is at her introductory hydrotherapy session today!

Despite being deaf and having slightly different requirements, she took everything in her stride and settled beautifully 💙

Her owner is already ahead of the New Year buzz by booking in early — an amazing start to her hydro journey and lots to look forward to 🐎💦

Just a little heads-up so you can plan your sessions — we’ll be closed 19th Dec–4th Jan for a well-earned cool-down (for both the team and the treadmill!).
