Small good deeds remind us there are good people out there. If you are aware of anyone asking for help but notice they are not strong enough to act on the help given, be persistent. Our lives can change at a flick of a switch. I maybe a FHP but I have worked in the care sector for over 25 years. I can help people in other ways to see there are those of us that want to help and expect nothing in return.

For those who are diabetic or have diabetics in their family. Please make sure you/they attend their appointments with the diabetic nurse and podiatrist. As we get older we can neglect our health. Your feet are one of the first body parts to let us know something is wrong.
Please be mindful that this picture shows how extreme gangrene can be. I visited this client 6 weeks before this picture was taken. There where no visual signs gangrene on previous visit. Lots of underlined health problems from self neglect.

It's been a few weeks of seeing new clients. Proud of my 2 ladies this week. Neither had received any support for a while and they're anxiety levels where quite high. A good chat and lots of giggles soon defused them. They can now walk properly and want me to visit again

Good morning.
The weather has not been kind to us all at the moment. Please do not neglect your feet/legs. Our blood circulation may not be so good, cold feet, swollen legs and ankles as well as toes not doing so well. Reflexology is a good way to assist with getting the blood flowing again. If you are experiencing cold, swollen, tingling or cramp in your legs and feet please call or message me for an appointment/visit. Lets keep everyone mobile this winter.

There is nothing for me that compares to helping someone regain their confidence in them selves and no longer have to feel guilty about lack of ability to care for their feet, no more embarrassment. And a good FHP will make you feel at ease and trust they are in good capable hands. Before and after our 1st visit.

I haven't posted for while, time for a reminder. I use 2 days of my working helping people with emergency appointments. I don't necessarily see them again as they manage to hospital appointments. But I do see most clients again until the can see a podiatrist or a chiropodist for further surgical procedures. Please please please, should any of my carer colleagues notice one of your clients needs help asap, then please message. I have seen a lady who has had an infected big toe nail for nearly 18 months, being a diabetic no one had removed the large offensive piece of nail. It was being dressed frequently by the DN's. I cut and removed the large bit of nail, cleaned all the debris out for the nurse to redress.
