NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly

NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly The integrated care board for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. We are part of the wider Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Integrated Care System.

Our job is to plan and buy health and care services for the people registered with GP practices in Cornwall and Isles of Scilly. These services include planned hospital care, mental health and learning disability services, urgent and emergency care, children’s health services, community services, NHS 111, a GP out of hours service and some primary care services. This is a partnership of health and

care organisations who will work together to plan and deliver services and improve the health of people who live in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

😎 Keep cool in the ☀️by following our advice 💦 🐝 and ⏰ don’t put off coming forward for help. 🤒 If you start to feel ill please pop into a local pharmacy or minor injury unit - the earlier the better!

👀Look up pharmacy and minor injury units + advice here: https://cios.icb.nhs.uk/help-us/where-is-best/

Keep 😎 cool with our tips:

💦 Keep sipping drinks or nibbling ice lollies - you should try to drink 6-8 times a day - water is great and healthy drinks too!

👥Babies, children and older adults are more at risk during warmer weather especially the risk of dehydration due to not drinking enough.

🤒If you notice any signs of dehydration, contact NHS 111 on weekends or evenings or your own GP during the week.

Visit the NHS website for symptoms of dehydration to look out for and what to do next.

🐞🦟Warmer weather is enjoyable for many, but it can also mean an increase in bites and stings.

Our Story

NHS Kernow is the clinical commissioning group for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. The Group is formed of 62 local practices who are themselves formed into locality groups which have been involved in local commissioning for many years. There are 10 GP localities and each locality has a GP lead. For more detail on this see our GP Leads and localities page on our website.

Our principal work is to buy health services on behalf of local people. We are responsible for buying:

  • Hospital care.

  • Mental health care.
