'Cornwall comes to Castle Hill' - Ansum! Wow, what a day. Here are some highlights for you:
* Children's Cornish fancy dress was won by a Cornish Farmer and a Cornish Princess
* Loveny Male Voice Choir moved many to tears with their amazing voices and harmonies and Cornish songs π₯²
* The children searched around the grounds for clues and letters in our treasure hunt, that eventually led them back into the activities room, where the answer to the anagram was worked out to be the age of our eldest resident (Ninety-Nine), who happily awarded the winner with his prize and then the treasure chest, full of 'gold bars', was opened and shared with all who took part
* Rob Copeland, our professional storyteller, had us listening in awe to his Cornish Tales as he brought stories of mermaids and pasties and the knockers underground, to life π
* Cornish Cream Teas were available all afternoon (Jam First, of course!!) along with stalls for fun and games
* Oggy the Pasty from Proper Cornish made an appearance
* Kelly's ice cream van was kept busy π¦
* The raffle was drawn and in total we made a staggering Β£370 for The Hugs Foundation, thank you to everyone who bought a ticket and all the very generous donation of prizes
* The afternoon finished with our residents, staff and visitors having a good old Cornish Singalong, which included 'Cornwall my home' and Trelawney
and finally, I would like to say a big thank you again to staff who came in on their day off to support our event, Go Team Castle Hill !!
