Sorry for the lack of posts recently - technical hitch 😉!

St Patrick's Day had staff and residents dressing in green and funny hats, taking a tour around some of Ireland on the big screen, including a trip up Blarney Castle to kiss the Blarney Stone, all whilst enjoying an Irish Coffee. This was followed by a game of Irish Carpet Bowls. Who thought bowling with a potato could be so much fun?! ( The shop didn't have a turnip so we had to use an orange as the jack) 🥔

Thanks to Cheryl and the kitchen team for the Irish Stew with Colcannon for lunch and the Irish coffees that were a huge hit 😃🇨🇮

We felt very privileged to be the first care home in Cornwall to welcome 'Duology - A night at the musicals'. 🥳

This was a new venture for Duane AJ Music and his singing partner Carly and WOW, what a performance!!. Our residents loved every single moment, singing and dancing along to songs from musicals such as Annie, Mamma Mia, Les Mis, Mary Poppins and many more. We can't wait for their next visit later in the year. 🤩😊

The residents have been busy.. yesterday they celebrating International Flower Day. We studied photos of flowers to see how many we could name then had a flower quiz. This really got us thinking and reminiscing, somehow we got from flowers to the outside toilet at night with hilarious stories of having to pay a visit in the dark .... 🤣🧻🌸🪻💐

Elvis Presley Day - January 8th

On Thursday we celebrated what would have been Elvis's birthday. We had an Elvis song quiz in the morning and in the afternoon we had a presentation on the life of Elvis Presley followed by an Elvis singalong.

A good day? U huh huh ....

All the residents said how much they had enjoyed it ☺️🎤 (Apologies for not wearing my Elvis costume this year!) 😅

Happy Christmas everyone

Here is a little poem that we had written especially for you …

Twas the night before Christmas and all through our home,
Residents were sleeping they know they’re not alone.
The staff were checking up on them with care,
Everyone felt so totally at home while living there.

The dinner was prepped for a grand and tasty feast,
Around the table tomorrow they’ll gather in peace.
For this is so much more than just residential care,
As Christmas magic, wonder and joy is felt in the air.

From your home to ours, without any fuss,
We promise to love you, you’re now one of us.
It is a real privilege and an honour to care for you,
We hope you feel that blessing through all we do.

So as morning begins on a new Christmas Day,
All of our family now really would like to say.
Celebrating with you all brings us so much delight,
Merry Christmas to all, may your days be merry and bright.

Our Christmas Party - an afternoon bursting with fun and laughter, with a lot of singing and dancing too, thanks to a double dose of Duane AJ Music!! Special awards were given out and everyone had an absolutely fantastic time, we finished with a classic sung by Duane, staff and residents. 🤣🥳🤩
