We are excited to be embarking on a new exercise program, 'Falls Prevention' with Adam from Form & Function Fitness. This class takes place twice a month, with the aim of building strength and balance to prevent falls within the home. Photos include some of the exercises we did yesterday.

Three teams, four bean bags, five buckets...
Lots of fun seeing who could get the most points. Residents of all abilities joined in. When one resident had trouble throwing, Sola, our enthusiastic carer in activities that day, put himself in the firing line and said 'throw it at my head!' Fortunately the resident missed but it really helped his aim 🤣🤣

Health and Safety - No carers were hurt during this activity! 😆

SENIOR CARE ASSISTANT - DAYS

Castle Hill House is seeking to recruit a committed and compassionate team member to support us to deliver the best care possible to our lovely residents.

In this senior position you will be working alongside our Care Leads as well as taking responsibility for the home in their absence.

It's a busy role in which you'll have a lot to accomplish each shift. The most important job is always doing what you can to help our residents have a comfortable, interesting and rewarding day.

You will need to be experienced in all aspects of personal care, medication management, documentation and dealing with external Health and Social Care professionals. You must be able to lead a team and respond to emergency situations.

In return we offer a friendly, professional working environment, full training, subsidised staff meals, free on-site parking and uniform. The pay rate is £14.56 per hour if all training is up to date.

Whilst this is not a role for those new to care it could be suitable for someone looking for the next step up.

A dearly loved member of our Castle Hill family celebrated her 100th birthday on Saturday. She had the most amazing day with family, friends and staff joining her for the afternoon, with a glass of Champagne, singing, dancing, a look back over her long life and of course, a card from the King and Queen. Plus her very own tiara as the Birthday Queen!

What a wonderful Easter Weekend we had at Castle Hill. On Good Friday we were busy tasting a variety of different Hot Cross Buns. After trying seven different buns, including salted caramel, double chocolate and carrot, discussing good and bad, the winner was clear. Our residents all loved the traditional Hot Cross Bun best!!😊

Easter Sunday we had a visit from the Easter Bunny - Easter Eggs for everyone 🐰

Easter Monday was our BIG Easter Quiz. 5 teams battled it out, residents, staff, family and friends. All afternoon we answered questions with an Easter theme - Bible, Easter, eggs, chickens, rabbits, traditions, royalty, omelets and lots more!! Unbelievably, three teams won with a total of 44 points each. Good job we had a lot of chocolate to give out as prizes. A great afternoon with lots of fun, well done everyone and thanks for taking part xx😄
