A little note about appointment fees 💛

I completely understand that, as a patient, it can sometimes feel like you’re paying “just for the time” or “just for the treatment carried out on the day”.

In reality, a foot health appointment fee reflects much more than what happens in the chair.

It also includes things you don’t always see, such as:
• professional training and continued learning
• high standards of sterilisation and infection control
• specialist instruments, equipment and clinical products
• insurance and professional compliance
• your clinical notes and record keeping
• preparation and clean-down time before and after each appointment

All of this is part of providing safe, consistent, professional care — and ensuring every patient is treated with the time, attention and standards they deserve.

I hope you all had a super lovely Christmas!

Happy new year to all, and a big thank you to all who have trusted me to come into your comes and treat your feet, I absolutely mean it, when I say the pleasure is mine.

Everyday involves new challenges, giggles, deep meaningful conversations and much more!

Here’s to a happy and healthy 2026!

PS - I received so many cards, gifts, alcohol, chocolate and so many little gifts for Rupert too! Thank you all so much, i genuinely am so so grateful (and 6lbs heavier)! 🐷

I am due back to work on Tuesday 6th Jan, and business will resume as usual, but please be aware, I have no availability or wiggle room until the beginning of February. I am still trying to get through messages, emails and voicemails, I will get there!

The offending part of the nail has to be removed to ensure the start of a safe healing process - along with antibiotics from your doctor, but antibiotics alone will not solve the issue.

Ingrown toenails can be treated by your local Podiatrist, Chiropodist and Foot Health Practitioner 👣

We can ensure safe removal, infection prevention and control and provide aftercare and advice 🧑‍⚕️

But, but all means, please attend A&E if your toe is falling off ☠️

NHS England reported 3,890 ingrown toenails presented at A&E last winter. Podiatrists are the experts in foot and lower limb care and can provide specialist care for ingrown nails, including minor surgery to resolve them. Check with your local NHS for podiatry access criteria or find your nearest private podiatrist at https://rcpod.org.uk/find-a-podiatrist and save A&E for the critical care.

There is no need to feel embarrassed or ashamed, there is absolutely no judgement here!

A lot of my regular patience say “the older I get, the further way my feet get”, and sometimes they get so far, they just give up.

It was an absolute pleasure treating this patient, and I thoroughly look forward to seeing them again in 6 weeks 👣
