💙 A Fond Farewell to Dr Max Schild 💙

Yesterday we said goodbye to the much-loved Dr Max Schild, who is heading off to start an exciting new chapter further north.

His good energy, happy spirit, and dedication to his patients will be sorely missed by all of us here at Bognor Medical Centre.

We know so many of you will join us in wishing him the very best for this next adventure. Thank you, Dr Schild, for everything, you’ll always have a place in our Bognor family! 💙✨

📣 Resident Doctor Strikes – Information for Our Patients 📣

We know you may have heard about the upcoming resident doctor strikes. We want to reassure all our patients that these strikes will not affect your appointments here at Bognor Medical Centre.

Our GP team and Minor Illness team will be working as usual, so please attend your appointments as planned.

If you have any concerns, feel free to get in touch, we’re here for you.

The British Medical Association (BMA) will hold five days of strike action from Friday 25 July to 30 July. Please continue to come forward for the care you need.

If you need urgent medical help but you’re not sure where to go, use 111.nhs.uk to get assessed and directed to the right place for you.

✅ Get into the habit of checking your testicles regularly, it only takes a minute and makes it easier to spot any changes in size, look or feel.

Remember: these changes are very common and are often caused by lots of different things, but it’s always best to get them checked by a GP, just to be safe. Don’t carry that worry around with you!

Just a quick reminder that Bognor Medical Centre will be closed This afternoon, Tuesday 8th July, from 12:30pm onwards for essential staff training.

We’ll be back open as normal at 8:30am tomorrow (Wednesday 9th July).

If you need help while we’re closed:
✅ Emergency: Call 999
✅ Less urgent: Call NHS 111 or use the NHS 111 online service
✅ Pharmacies: Many local pharmacies can help with minor illnesses and advice
✅ Urgent Treatment Centres: Must be booked via NHS 111

🔴 Missed Appointments: 204 appointments were missed, costing the NHS over £7,000 and 49 hours of lost time. We know summer can be busy with holidays and days out, but please remember to cancel if you can’t attend. This helps us offer your slot to another patient who needs it. 🙏
💙 Something we have improved since last month:
Our average phone wait time is just 2.9 minutes! 📞✨ We know how frustrating long waits can be, so we’re thrilled to keep this under 3 minutes, even with thousands of calls coming in every month. Thank you for your patience and kindness when you get through to our team!

🌞 As we move further into summer, please continue to help us help you, cancel appointments you can’t make, stay sun-safe and healthy, and remember we’re always here when you need us.
