What do I eat?
I love to be a bit nosy and see what other people are eating so I thought I would share with you what I'm eating. When I take my packed lunch to my mother's she frequently asks "What ARE you eating now!" 😂

On this day, I also had a few more nuts and piece of dark chocolate with a friend.

Still felt hungry after dinner and had a few more nuts. More nuts than ideal but I'm being honest.

I'm currently experimenting with trying to hit 81g or protein per day

Is COLLAGEN worthwhile? I’ve been taking it for 3 months which is the timescale required to see improvements in healing and pain. I have been diagnosed with a bulging disc that is healing on its own albeit slowly. With less pain, stronger nails and smoother skin are these collagen influenced or other time/season/dietary/lifestyle factors? So, what do I do? How do I tell? I’m going to stop taking the collagen from March and look out for a decline in any of the possible improvements. About the best way I can think of when you’re using yourself as a study of 1. Let me know your thoughts and experience’s.

Natural Bias

I love learning about all things health related, it's a passion. Listening to dr.'s, scientists and lay person experience's is fascinating and I am very open to new information. My natural bias is towards our bodies having the answers if we fuel, move, rest and support them in the right ways. I'm not anti medicine or supplementation I just don't want that to be instead of doing the basics. I recall talking to a rugby player after return to play from heart surgery and asking if they were making changes to their diet to support their health and the conversation being abruptly curtailed with a "that's what the pills are for".
My latest way of thinking is that there is a happy medium between "no pills" and "no lifestyle". I am my own Science Experiment whether I'm trying a supplement, a tweak to nutrition or exercise regime. I ask myself "What am I trying to achieve?" set a period of time to trial it (I look at research papers to tell me how long to wait for effects), track my progress and then evaluate. "Did it have any benefits?" and decide whether it's in or out for me.

Mindful Waiting

I'm having an scan to find out what, if anything, I've done to my lower back/sacroiliac area. I was trying to do strengthening exercises daily (via the www) to aid healing but I couldn't see a pattern to what was aggravating and alleviating my pain so I'm currently taking care of my desire to move by walking and swimming. Enlightenment comes from adversity and It's so weird that whilst I could physically do what I wanted, I always felt I should be doing more. My friends and family are used to me being a doer and I hadn't realised how much it made up part of my identity. So, I'm currently waiting for modern medicine to look inside and give some guidance. Why mindful waiting? Because we know that sometimes a placebo can replace a medicine. So, if we can build muscles by imagining exercising (yes it's a thing) then perhaps I can heal by mindfully waiting to be told "you're all good". I'm learning that "what I do" isn't "who I am" but those things are powerful connections to the things I care about. Life is keeping me humble and reminding me what to cherish.

Your thoughts and feedback please. This will be a double sided flyer. Is there anything that you would like to see, know on the flyer? It will be the two complete pages of text. I've broken it down to make it easier to read.
