Children look to safe adults for ways to regulate in times when they are experiencing dysregulation. This doesn’t mean that as adults we have to be ‘perfect’ within the activation, it means we need to be authentic. Modelling that all emotions are normal and that we can integrate them safely.

But also within the play room it is therapeutic in the way it helps children to develop ideas and flexibility of thought, test out alternative ways of thinking, face difficulties in a safe way, try alternative ways of moving and develop empathy through forming and playing different roles ❤️
