🌿 SEND Nature Programme – Week Four 📡

This week’s session showed just how powerful nature-based learning can be. With walkie-talkies, forest games and simple science experiments, children who are often told they “can’t” surprised everyone by communicating, cooperating and problem-solving together.

From shouting “testing, testing… over and out!” across the woods to carrying equipment together and playing Tig through the trees, the forest became a space where confidence and friendships could grow.

✨ A powerful reminder that when children are given freedom, trust and the right environment, they show us what they’re truly capable of.

🌿 SEND Nature Programme – Week Three 🔥

This week’s session was filled with campfire treats, creativity and meaningful moments. From toasting marshmallows and making bird feeders to exploring the forest, the children once again showed just how powerful open-ended play in nature can be.

One non-verbal child spent the session happily toasting marshmallows for his parents, while others built confidence around the fire and explored the woods at their own pace.

✨ A beautiful reminder that when children are trusted, supported and given space, they thrive.

🌿 SEND Nature Programme - Week Two Reflections 🌿

This week’s SEND session reminded us just how powerful calm, connection and the right environment can be.

Through sound baths, gentle sensory experiences and child-led support, children who usually struggle to settle found moments of stillness, trust and regulation - and parents finally had space to breathe too.

✨ “He’s never stayed still like that before."
✨ “For the first time, I felt my cup being filled.”

🌱 SEND Nature Programme – A Powerful First Session 🌱

We recently launched our new SEND Nature Programme, delivered in partnership with Forest Frontiers and supported by Bolton CVS — and it was truly incredible to witness.

Children explored the forest in their own way: climbing trees, playing by the stream, creating with clay, telling stories, and connecting with each other at their own pace. With thoughtful adjustments, sensory support, and a child-led approach, confidence and joy grew naturally throughout the session.

🌿 Mums Matter: Winter Light, Shared Warmth & a Gentle Goodbye 🌿

This week marked our final in-person forest session for the Mums Matter group - a cold but comforting afternoon filled with warm food, crackling fire, crunchy leaves and connection.

Mums and children embraced the season, explored freely, shared hot chocolate, and found joy in simply being together outdoors as the light slowly returned 🌤️

A beautiful reminder that wellbeing doesn’t need perfect conditions - just presence, care, and community.

🦁 Mums Matter: A Trip to the Zoo Through Yoga & Play 🐘

This week’s Mums Matter session was full of imagination, movement and calm as mums and children went on a playful trip to the zoo - all through yoga, music and storytelling 💚

From animal sounds and yoga poses to torchlight night time adventures and dancing under a rainbow parachute, it was a beautiful example of connection through play.

🐰 Mums Matter: Baby Yoga, Bonding & Breathing Space 🧘‍♀️👶

This week, our Mums Matter programme slowed the pace with a beautiful Baby Yoga session led by Helen from Yoga Bunnies 💕

With gentle movement, songs, breath work and space for babies to wriggle, feed or sleep, the session focused on connection over perfection - helping mums and babies relax, bond and simply be together.

A calm, supportive space where nothing needed fixing - just time, presence and care 💚

Last week’s Mums Matter session was a gentle winter nature walk led by Russ - and it was pure magic.

We learned:
🐦 Why robins follow humans in winter
🍒 How holly berries grow (and why not all trees have them!)
🍂 Why some trees shed their leaves
🎶 How birds communicate through sound

Wrapped up against the cold, mums and children slowed down, listened to birdsong, touched bark and leaves, and rediscovered how much there is to notice when we truly pause.

🌲 Mums Matter – Week 7: Rain, Resilience & Woodland Magic 🌲

It may have been wet, but it was full of joy!

This week, mums and children embraced the rain with elf hunts, willow weaving, scavenger hunts, and making reindeer food - proving that a little drizzle never stops connection 💚

With hot chocolate for parents, fruit snacks for little ones, and even a surprise deer sighting in the woods, it was one of those sessions that reminds us why nature matters so much ✨
