remember this? he ended up getting chased by the bolder
so often, we just decide to cut out the old behaviour, or simply swap it for a new one... while this can seem to work, so often the old behaviour chases after us
when we're making changes in our lives, it's important, (even if it's difficult and not immediately obvious) to recognise that part of our brain sees a 'positive intention' in the behaviour... to seek comfort, feel safe, cope...
by recognising that 'positive intention' and working on what drove it in the first place, then we can start to make authentic change
it's one of the reasons that I like using hypnosis with my clients, as it's a really straightforward way to connect to the parts of the brain that hold beliefs and memories, and create effective change in a short space of time
if you're feeling stuck in a cycle, get in touch
have a great weekend
