It is with extreme sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of our beautiful girl Hayley
She gained her angel wings on 2nd March 2026 aged 44 years.
A Deeply loved and adored Mum, Daughter, Sister, Nanna , Auntie, niece, mother in law , partner, cousin and friend to the whole community of Deane .
A beautiful soul now set free .

The funeral service will take place on Friday 27th March 2026 in St Mary’s Deane Church at 10.00am followed by committal at Overdale Crematorium at 12.00 noon.
Family flowers only please, donations in memory of Hayley will be welcome and are for the charity MIST.
All welcome to attend and if possible could the colour lilac/purple be in the dress code as it’s Hayley’s favourite colour. 💜
Afterwards everyone is invited back to the Queen Anne pub to celebrate the life of Hayley

Yesterday I conducted the funeral for one of our neighbour’s Geoff Greenhalgh, all his family did him proud and again Sue gave a heartfelt service about a lovely welll known man

Poem I received from a family who I had the honour of looking after their loved one

A lovely poem titled "The Undertaker"

This is for the undertaker,
Whose story is sad to tell,
For what they do is never mentioned,
and often overlooked as well.
They are not at all what you might picture,
not wrinkled, old and grey.
Their face is not the pasty white,
Like storybooks portray.

Some people laugh and make their jokes,
And some turn up their nose,
And many think that they are strange,
For the life that they have chose.

But there are many things
that people don’t see,
And even more that they don’t know.
Like all the nights they get no rest,
But never lets it show.

I have seen them work both day and night,
With no time to eat or sleep.
To care for those in mourning,
And comfort those who weep.

The load they carry on their shoulders,
Is more than you or I could bear.
But they always seem to find the time,
To show you that they care.

So when you see the undertaker,
Make sure you see the person
That does the job that no one wants
And that no one understands.

Take the time to shake their hand,
And a moment to just say “HI”
I think you’ll find the undertaker,
Is just an ordinary guy or girl ❤️
