🌟 Celebrating Our Amazing Support Staff 🌟

At Beacon Case Management we take real pride in our supervision and support systems. Our team leaders are trained and encouraged to deliver supportive, respectful supervisions that recognise the incredible work our support workers do every day.

A recent review of supervision notes reminded us just how much that appreciation matters. One team leader wrote to a valued team member:

"I just want to say how much I appreciate everything you’ve done. You’ve been such a brilliant part of the team, and I’ve been able to rely on you completely. Your calm, positive attitude makes a real difference every day.

I know you’re moving on to do bank work now, and while we’re sad to see you go, we’re so proud of you for getting such a fantastic opportunity as a doctor – what an amazing achievement! We’re grateful you’re staying on with us as bank, it means a lot to us and especially to [the client], who really benefits from your support."

Moments like this remind us that support, recognition, and gratitude are just as important as the work itself. 💙

🚴‍♂️ From Fleetwood to Kendal – 44 miles of hope and heroism 🚴‍♂️

We’re proud to support our incredible client Tom, who recently completed a charity bike ride to raise funds for Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.

The hospital holds deep meaning for Tom and his family.

At just 11 years old, Tom was struck by a police car while crossing the road, leaving him with a serious brain injury and in a coma. Thanks to the extraordinary care at Alder Hey, Tom made a remarkable recovery and is now back to being his fun-loving, cheeky self!

To say thank you, Tom (now 13!) cycled 44 miles from Fleetwood to Kendal alongside friends and family, raising money to help Alder Hey continue their life-saving work for children across the UK.

🧡 The fundraiser may be over, but donations are still open!

If you’d like to support Tom’s mission and help Alder Hey provide vital equipment, toys, and family support, you can still donate: https://www.justgiving.com/page/thomas-white-13

At Beacon, we support many individuals who have been the victim of a road traffic collision, including their families. For these people, they will have to live the rest of their lives with life-altering injuries. Frequently these injuries include, acquired brain injury, spinal trauma and complex psychological needs, alongside many others. Often, life can never go back to being how it was before.

August is National Road Victim Month, and we ask that everyone takes a moment to remember all those who have lost their lives in road traffic accidents, and to those who survived, but have to live with the devastating consequences.

The journey to recovering is long, and fraught with setbacks, but our case managers are here to support our clients and their families each and every day.

🧠 After an acquired brain injury or trauma, many individuals face not only physical challenges but emotional ones too, including anxiety, isolation, depression, and a loss of identity.

For people with complex care needs, simply having someone to talk to can be life-changing. That’s why listening is at the heart of what we do.

This Week, we’re standing with in championing the power of compassionate conversation. Whether it’s a friend, a family member, or a case manager, talking and listening, really can save lives.

💬 Let’s break the silence around mental health.

🧠 After a life-changing brain injury, the journey to recovery can feel overwhelming. For some, alcohol becomes a way to cope with emotional distress, pain, or loss of identity, but it can also complicate recovery and rehabilitation.

At Beacon Case Management, we understand the challenges clients face in adjusting to life after an acquired brain injury. Our case managers provide holistic, non-judgemental support that addresses not just physical needs, but emotional wellbeing, too.

This Alcohol Awareness Week, we’re raising awareness of the often-overlooked link between brain injury and alcohol use, and advocating for compassionate, joined-up care.

Recovery is possible. And you are not alone.
