BED TIME ANXIETY??? I feel you! 😴

When it comes to winding down for bed anxiety creeps in. Your mind doesn’t know how to relax so when you start feeling relaxed for bed your brain is like ‘ERM WHAT ARE WE DOING??’ And it gets ready too fight. 🤯

Then the intrusive thoughts come in…. A check list of things you need to tomorrow comes in… all these thoughts will keep you awake and make you feel stressed .

So what do we do??? 🤷🏻‍♀️

- Put Relaxing music on
- Listen to a bed time story
- Meditation / Breathing exercises
- Stay off devices
- Don’t watch anything on TV ( it’s a distraction)
- Listen to affirmations whilst asleep
- Read a self help book

Try it see if it works 🧠💗

Sometimes the worse place to be is in your own head 🧠 - let’s talk intrusive thoughts.

Overthinking things can be so intense & constantly listening to the intrusive thoughts 💭

When intrusive thoughts come in it’s SO hard not to believe them because they feel so believable most of the time. They don’t sound believable but they feel it.

What’s a intrusive thought? 🤔
It’s a thought you would NEVER normally think , these thoughts can be quite dark too and they just pop in and pop out. But when that thought comes in you can’t get it out , you start overthinking it.

Here’s some intrusive thoughts I get.
- Your dying.
- That pain in your head is cancer
- Chest pain? Definitely heart attack
- Pain in my leg? Blood clot 100%
- Waiting too cross the road - Imagine if i stepped out then whilst that truck was driving past.

These are just some that pop in DAILY. I just shake my body & the thought soon goes. I don’t let it consume me anymore because all them thoughts are not true and nothing will happen too me 😁

How do you handle your intrusive thoughts?? 💭🧠

What do I do when anxiety gets bad? 🧠

- Take my dogs for a walk , getting out in fresh air helps me so much.

- Go for a walk on my own. Sometimes I like to just find some grass and just sit on it with my head phones in and ignoring all the anxious thoughts.

- Meditation. Meditation helps to calm my mind and body down so much (Wim Hof meditation). It puts me in a good state.

Cold shower. When you can feel the panic taking of your body cold showers are the BEST! This shocks your body so your mind completely forgets about the panic and your mind starts to focus on how cold you feel , honestly this is a life changer!

Journal. Writing down my thoughts and feelings always helps you can express yourself and have no judgement.

Try some of them out and see if they help 😊🧠

Anxiety can be such a scary feeling. These are some of feelings it can cause.

It al starts from 1 thought and that 1 thought you had escalates into more thoughts and the next thing you know your having a full blown panic attack from just a thought.

Thoughts become feelings & when you start feeling these symptoms our minds do over time thinking something bad is happening and really because we’ve had that 1 thought our minds think it’s happening to us so we start feeling it. 🤯 - your mind doesn’t know if something is real or not , so whatever your telling your mind it thinks it’s real. 🧠
